Columbus Tickets - Good Lord!

Post by Buckice »

Since I am a season-ticket holder for Ohio State Hockey (hence my screen name) I have the opportunity to buy pre-sale tickets. I just got the application in the mail.

$97.00 per seat + $7.00 per order, max. of 8 tickets.

I have a contact who usually gets me comp tickets. If she can't come through, we'll have to skip this show. $201 for two of us!

That's crazy!

Post by cartmill72 »

I love Jimmy Buffett and the shows. But there is no way I'll ever pay $97 for a ticket without sitting front row. (In fact, I paid $125 for a front row seat last year).

I live less than 10 minutes from the arena and I'm sorry to report I'll wait on the live CD before shelling out that much cash.

The application doesn't say so, but I assume that they are somewhat close to the stage. I only have two seats for hockey, and they're letting me order eight, so I don't think they're the same seats.

However, the application does say that it's first-come-first-served. So, depending on how many people take advantage of this, the seats could be anywhere!

I'd like to see you get within the first 25 rows in Atlanta for $125 :o

It was Cincy...

Post by cartmill72 »

I did better than Atlanta...I got front row in Cincinnati!

Someone had extra tickets and they said, "you can have them for $125 each." I thought they were kidding. I paid. Then I thought, "I'm going to get to the show and these will be fake tickets." They weren't.

It was unreal. The best show ever!

But you are right. I won't ever do that again.

would you buy the tix, if you knew you would have buyers at face value?

Had a presale password in San Jose and got third row tix in the center for the San Jose arena in January. I wouldn't do it any other way if I could. My suggestion is get as many as you can afford and if you're not happy with them, the local parrothead club will find the takers for what you had to pay. I wish every show was that easy to get tix... Better to have a few in hand and let them go than get to the arena and be thinking ... "that could be me way down there..." jmho 8) !
I think I hear a Hamock calling me...

In 2001 when Jimmy played at the Schottenstein Center, they originally announced the ticket prices at like $90, $55, and $45 or something like that, so I was the only one in line for these tickets at my local Ticketmaster and told them I wanted tickets in the $50 price range. Well it turns out that they had changed the prices of the tickets in the day since I had looked at the Schott website and the most expensive ones were only $65, so I could have gotten much better seats for just a little more than I paid for upper level! I was MAD!

EDIT: FYI, I just went to the Schottenstein Center website http://www.schottensteincenter.com/cale ... ffett.html and they are listing ticket prices as $77, $57, and $37 with Free Parking. So for $97, I hope you are getting a suite.

2001 Ticket Stub

Post by cartmill72 »

I'm looking at my ticket stub from Value City Arena's 2001 show and it was $59.50. I was in section 127 (pretty good seat actually) which is lower level in the back. I can't imagine this being the high end ticket price, so it appears that tickets have dropped $2.50 according the Schott's web site.

But I'm sure Ticketbastard's fees will more than make up for any face value decline.

Well, then, if my "advanced" tickets are $97, I'd better be up on stage dancing with Heather!

Like I said, I'll wait and see if me "comp contacts" come through.

Wow, that's a lot of money! I don't care how much I love the artist, I would not pay that much for a ticket to a show.

If you guys are complaining about $97.00 dollar seats, don't ever plan on going to a Vegas show! $97.00 seats + airfare + hotel = a lot of cash, but you get what you pay for.

Look the average show costs me $600. That inlcuide tickets, air fares hotels and food.

If you look at the price of other shows on the market it's still a good deal.

Stop complaning and go.
