Who's Going to Tampa?

Flights - Check. Flying in Thursday morning, out Saturday night.
Hotel - Check. Staying at Tradewinds on the beach at St. Pete.
Rental Car - Check. Reserved a convertible with Alamo.
Tickets - Still working on that. Hey Des, thanks for the lead!

It looks like the pre-concert party is at Channelside. How close is that to the venue and where should I park?

Channelside, Newks, and the arena are all pretty much withih easy
walking distance:

As for parking, you're on your own there. I know there are some parking
garages nearby, because we left our car there for a cruise we took out of
Tampa, but I don't know what the situation would be for short term
parking...

Maybe the people at your hotel can help with info?

I’ll be at Tampa (in only 3 days too!

) I remember when I got on Ticketmaster to get the tickets, it seemed like the concert day was so far away! I don’t know if I will be participating in the tailgating events due to my age and the time my brother (who’s driving) gets of work. I’ll have to see what it’s like when I get there, because I’m not familiar with the environment of a JB concert.

Anyway, this will be my first JB concert and its an tour opener, how about that! The setlist structure is going to be a mystery since we don’t have any previous ones to base it off of. Yeah, I know he’s going to do at least 9/13 of the SYKBH and OPH for sure, but I don’t mind that at all since it is my first. The main reason its Tampa I’m attending is because I live just an hour north of there. I’ve seen Bruce Springsteen twice at this same venue, and man were those great shows.

Feel free to add me to the list Desdamona. I’ll be there with my mom and brother.

Yeah , my wife and I are having a new house built so I figured this will be my last hurrah for a while so I might as well hit the Keys, top down and doors off style.
I've never been on the Tamiami Trail and it should be a blast.

I'll hit MOTM oneofthesedaze.
I'm not even in a club yet. I've been talking about joining the Jax Beach club for the longest and just have not gotten around to it, not that I don't want to.

hey, we leave tomorrow for florida. CAN"T WAIT!!! will be driving up from the ft. myers area for the concert. i hope the parking won't be too much of a pain since we've never been to this venue. i guess we will head over to channelside since that seems to be were the bn'ers will be gathering. looking forward to meeting everyone that i have seen post here!

OK I got tickets! Not in hand, but I'll have them the day of the show. I bought 2 seats in the XO Club from EBay. They were pricey but they come with a FREE dinner buffet and open bar all night long. There's also a full business center with internet stations, so I might even be able to post to BN during intermission! We used frequent flyer miles so our tickets were only $75 apiece, giving me a little money to spend.

I'll go through Desdemona's list and PM my cell phone to the ones I can find. Those who want, PM me yours and I'll call you Thursday afternoon. We get there around noon and we'll try to make Channelside by 4PM.

Look forward to seeing everyone in Tampa!

Woooooo Hooooooo, I am so excited for the show. I was at the St Pete times forum last weekend for the Storm game (arena football) and the venue is awesome. The channelside bar looks like a prime part place, right by the entrance so we can party until the light go down and the show starts.

This will be my first ever tour opener, and I am going with my best friend who introduced me to buffett, and we went to our first show about 6 years ago at alpine.

I just moved to tampa about 3 weeks ago, talk about perfect timing. Des- you can add bohemuth to the list of tampa tail-gators (hey that would be a good club name) Come on everybody can I get a whoa Bundy

Slight change in plans - the keets are coming with us. Our babysitting arrangements fell through, so we're bringing them with us. I can't get a babysitter to the hotel before 6, so we'll miss most if not all of the pre-concert party. We'll be there as soon as we can. Have fun till we get there!

Hopefully leaving in an hour and a half or so. Hubby had to take care of some business before we leave. Told him if it took too long I was taking the keet and going without him!! Only thing is, he has the tickets in his truck!! Aaarrrggghghh!!!!

Oh well, guess I'm stuck!
