New Orleans Help
Ok, I've been to New Orleans several times and I am somewhat familiar with the city. I've been to Bourbon, Margaritaville, Harrah's, the French Market, Jackson Square, Aquarium, walked a ton, but I haven't been to many other places. My girlfriend has never been and I am taking her the second weekend in April. I want it to be a fun, romantic experience for us. We will have two full days there. Looking for some fun, romantic spots, including restaurants and tours, but not looking to break the bank. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Romantic New Orleans
Here are a few suggestions as I have been to New Orleans a few times...
For breakfast, obviously go to Cafe du Monde, but another place I recommend is Cafe Beignet which I believe is on Royal St. It's small - you order in the back - but has a nice courtyard and is inexpensive. good coffee too.
Take the streetcar down St. Charles Ave. (picks up at Barrone & Canal)and go on a Garden District walking tour. A good one originates from the Garden District Bookshop. If you have the dough, eat dinner at Commander's Palace, otherwise head back to the Quarter. A good place for dinner is Nola - an Emeril restaurant, but a little cheaper than his main place - the fish on the cedar plank is good.
I also recommend taking the steamboat river cruise. I believe they offer a dinner cruise. Take your girlfriend on a carriage ride through the quarter, the mules are lined up by Jackson Square.
That should get you started. If you'd like any other ideas, please feel free to email me. My address is in my profile.

Dude the most romantic part of that city is in the Garden District. Stay there, take the trolly into town! It is wonderful! The trolly takes a right turn almost at the end of the Garden District. On the left is a great couple of cafes!
Oh and ATLANTA ? you going to the show here ?

When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

Lived in New Orleans for a little while, and would be glad to help out with any specifics (I could maybe help with reservations if you are having trouble). The Irish Channel/Garden District/Uptown area is best to see by day. There are a hundred great little places on Magazine Street to look around in and a few goods ones to stop in for lunch while you are in that area, I recommend Mystic Cafe, but it all depends on wha you are in the mood for. If you are looking for a nice traditional French Quarter dining experience, the Palace Cafe won't break the bank, and their white chocolate bread pudding is just plain awesome. I recommend a cemetary tour if you get the chance too, they can be very interesting if you get a good guide. PM me where you are staying and what stuff you are interseted in, and I'll fill you in on anything else you might be looking for. There are a few other New Orleans Parrot Heads around here too, so they can probably help out as well.

Cafe du Monde for breakfast and the carriage ride through the quarter was already on the list. I think the walking tour through the Garden District would be good for both of us especially since I usually do the French Quarter stuff when I visit. I also thought about the Steamboat Cruise. How is it really? How's the food? Where is the Palace Cafe? She loves all of that "Haunted History" stuff so I thought maybe a ghost tour that includes a cemetery tour also. I really appreciate all the suggestions. We'll be there Easter weekend, Saturday through Monday, and we are staying at the Days Inn on Canal. Thanks again!
I've got lawn seats for the Atlanta show and pretty good seats for Columbia.

The Palace Cafe is on the other side of Canal from your hotel between Chartres and Exchange. More info here http://www.palacecafe.com.
