well, we've had a change of plans..............instead of 16, there are 2 of us. the rest of my family backed out yesterday - some due to very understandable and legitimate reasons, and some not. :(

anyway - my boyfriend mike and i will be there...........we're planning to make a long weekend of it and will probably enjoy not being tied down with 14 other people!!

we're going to head down early thursday morning and jump right in.........and might hit the cubs game on friday if we're not too hung over. :pirate:

Post by sailing »

There are four of us coming from Nebraska. We have never been to a Buffett concert in Chicago. Looking for some advise on were the pre tailgating parties happen for the Thurs. concert. We couldn't get a hotel in Tinley Park so we have to drive from downtown Chicago. Hope to get some feedback.

if anyone needs hotel rooms for the show, let me know.........we have rooms for thursday night and friday night at the holiday inn in matteson. i'd be more than happy to call and transfer them in to your name/credit card number...........they're $93/night (government rate - since the people that were originally staying there worked for the fed!) i just need to know if you want a king with sofa pull out bed, or a room with 2 double beds.

email me at saclaus@gmail.com

24 days!!!

I'm not 100% I'll be attending Thursday yet. 8/26 is my oldest's birthday, so the only way I'm going is with keets in tow. However, they were complaining at the start of the Hilary Duff concert because everyone was standing. :o

I have an extra room at the Holiday Inn in Tinley Park I will not need...the reservation is for Wednesday and Thursday night. If anyone's still looking for a room in the area, send me a message and I'll transfer it to you.

8/26 concert

Post by sailing »

We are looking to have a wastin away time at this concert. There are four of us coming. I'm the only one who has been to a JB concert and that was about 6 years ago at Sandstone. I want these guys to experience a good time, because I know how crazy it gets. Since I've never been to a JB concert in Chicago can you guys give me a heads up on where to go and were to park at the tweeter center for tailgating!!!

Fiins up!!!

easiest thing would be to go back and read the Thursday night and Saturday night threads-that will give you all the information you need!

Hey Sailing;

I work part time at Tweeter. Doesn't matter what gate you go in, either the main gate or the east gate, they will direct you to the west lots first and fill those up before they fill up the smaller east lots. normally the gates open at 4 PM for parking but sometimes for Jimmy they will open them at 3 if there are a lot of cars waiting....get there early and have fun!!

Let's see, 22 days and counting and this thread is only 7 pages long?

Who's in? Who's out? Let's update the list and start getting ready for the first of two great shows in Chicago!

Updated List

Looks like the following are in so far:

sirgumby77
Allison
gumbo gal
Margarita No Salt
Phins1026
ejr
miparrot4
nutmeg
finzup9
Tiki Bar
LonePalm1
Hoosier PH
prthd4353
Lee2
sferrigan
wcmargmixer
MargaritaLover
Playa Hombre
CAPTAIN FLINT
Too much tequilla??
pac7days
prrthd1987
SteelHead
RBrei46bv (working security!)
semitruths
weirdo0521
marijoy
LIPH (possibly)
scottppa
djtommyt
keetersDad
CaptainP
FluDCoup
sailing

Anyone have a idea for a possible BN group shot before the show, possibly during a previously announced live radio show broadcast?

Also, is anyone is looking to do a "pub crawl" Wednesday night to get the old liver in tune for the weekend?
Searching is half the fun: life is much more manageable when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party.

i don't think we'll be there until thursday morning - we plan on leaving home by 6am. we will be two tired parrotheads.

the other option is leaving after work on wednesday and heading to milwaukee to stay with friends. we have to figure that one out, though - not sure how they'd feel about us strolling in at 10:30pm.

we're parrothead orphans since the rest of the family ditched out - hopefully someone will take us under their wing in the parking lot! HA HA! get it? WING?!! :)

No extras, sorry. I have been trying to either find out or set up a BN tailgate session, pub crawl, whatever for awhile. Would love to meet other BN'ers.

Tweeter always releases some tickets the day of the show at the box office. I think the box office opens at 2 or 3.

Actually in I'm in the Square. Close to St. Fran & 80th.

I actually realized I posted that a few days ago and decided to delete the post... But it's wierd that I can say "I know where you live... by a golf course!!!" No, I am not a psycho, I prefer loco.
