Still too early, but time for some announcements. We are having special internet rates for park/camp on a big 3 acre field 0.4 miles from riverbend. The lot will even be open for early party go-ers a few days before the show. RV's are outta towners are welcome to stay the entire time.
The lot will be a first come, first serve basis. Meaning the early people will get their choice of parking space/camping spot . Special plans this year include cincinnati's favorites including either Goldstar or Skyline cheese coney's and palm trees giving shade to an outdoor bar and some other thrills .. So far, a few vendors (selling cool Buffett wear, etc.) have reserved their spot. The special internet fee is 10$ a car load and 40 an RV. Very much cheaper than a normal campground. Theres a tentative map available of the area. Also this is all WEATHER PERMITTING. If we have rain it will be cancelled. If we had rain the day before, it will be cancelled. Iam not doing a towing service, lol . Usually its pretty dry around town at the end of August. Email for more info and a map!

Mmmmmm ... cheese coneys. Think I'll have to open a can of Skyline chili just so I can have the aroma, then slurp it down over a plate of noodles and cheddar cheese.
Manatee, any particular song you're hoping for? I'm pulling for Buffett to play "No Plane on Sunday." That's my favorite and I haven't heard it played live yet.

Hey gang! Saturday was a great day for a road trip to Cincy. Its a long story but we had to go move the 22,000lbs of sand that we had delivered to our site last year. We got it done and had a lot of fun. Thanks Ches, for coming out and joining us. Its great to have friends in the CPHC!! We had a blast at Hooters too!! Hey, is there a ballgame going on??? LOL!!! Here are a couple of pics. The one of Chuck doing a wheelie in the bobcat we rented is a classic. A word to the wise.... never buy a bobcat that was previously used as a rental!!! The other pic kinda looks like Green Acres, eh??
Hey Cincy_party, while there we checked out the lot you've been talking about. We decided that it might be a great spot for some people... especially those that want to spend the night. However, I don't think it'll work for us. Its pretty much off the beaten path. The kind of party we throw with the CPHC would be a big flop if we don't get a lot of traffic, and I can't see that happening tucked away down a sidestreet, almost half a mile from Kellogg Street. The other thing is that getting the Phinmobile and trailer in there would be next to impossible. For those that don't want to be really close to the venue and want to spend the night.... I would probably recommend it. I wish I would have taken pics. Can you take some and post them on your site so that people can actually see the guy's yard? That would help people decide if they want to be there or not.

manatee wrote:Thanks for the tips! Our plan is to arrive early for the weekend so we can see some of the city. Is there a cool bar section of town? Maybe downtown Cinci or something?
I hear that the Reds will be at home that weekend.
After posting I just went back and read the previous posts. First of all, let's not get crazy. The Cincy Parrothead Club is a great organization and they are doing everything in their power to work something out. If a bunch of people start complaining and threatening to get out of hand and take over parking lots and stuff, you can bet we'll all be parking at Reds Stadium and taking cabs to Riverbend. The CPHC will not post any false or misleading information... trust me. Although the Phinmobile crew are not members, they are good personal friends and we will be working closely with them to come up with a plan that will allow us all to have a good time. Be patient and stay tuned....
After moving the sand, we went across the bridge into Kentucky. There is a section of town full of bars and restaurants right on the river that looks like a great place to hang out.

Ah, leave it the Phinmobile and the CPHC to calm the waters. We all are looking for a sense of reassurance that our traditions of showing up early, peacefully tailgaiting and having a great time continue.

Thanks guys. Keep us posted.
By the way, I don't think anyone wanted to get out of hand and ruin the phun for everybody. It's just a sad commentary these days when tailgating has slid down the ladder of social acceptance. But, like I said, we phind a way to create our welcoming and laid back atmosphere whether at the venue parking lot like yesteryear or in a mall parking lot (had to be a Merriweather last year to understand

).
By the way, what's the Phinmobile? I'll have to check this out.
thanksThanks

So, I see plans for Phinmobile Cincinnati . . . . I see Phinmobile Cincinnati 2003, Pine Knob 2003 well documented . . . . any plans for a Phinmobile Midwest tour? Alpine comes to mind as a great venue for a road show, especially since I'll be there!

Hi!
Glad you had a nice road trip to Cincinnati.
I wouldve met with ya if Id known you were coming. Sorry my lot wont work out for you guys but believe it or not, cars lined the street for 3 miles up the road last year. If you would have seen it last concert. people didnt mind walking the half mile, or really 0.4 . But keep the lot in mind and Ill post that pic on the website (btw, tanks for the pic). This year we are renting a full size van that will run shuttles to and from the field on sutton all night long. I wish I took pics of last concert but just didnt think about it as It was very, very busy.
Cheers!

Oh sorry, forgot to mention. you said you would have a hard time getting your trailer and rv in the lot.. There has been so many trailers from big trucks parked in the same field you saw. There's in fact, a guy that is a long distance truck driver and drives his 18 wheeler in the entrance to the field and parks his trailer there for his stay in Cinti. Theres actually two ways (second way is thru the driveway and thru the side yard of the house) to get any size RV,BUS,trailer into the lot. Been done many times.
Just saying that cause I dont want to discourage folks with rv's and trailers. that what we are catering too, the folks that are in RV's and need a place to stay the night. Ill try to take close up pictures if I can get my el cheapo 29.95 digital cam working again) .
cheers!

I'm doing this long distance, so if any of you locals want to correct what I'm about to say please PM me & I'll correct.
For those of us trying to visualize cinci_party's layout, check out
this map of the area - Sutton & Two Mile is the lot while Kellog & Sutton seems to be the venue.
For true visualization, check out this
aerial photo view of the site. If you think of the picture as the face of a clock, Riverbend theater is at about 7 o'clock while the lot is around 1 o'clock.

Thanks! But I gotta tell ya, since we hooked up with the Cincy Parrothead Club things have only gotten better. Last year they had 2 porta potties brought in. They collected donations for charity and provided everyone with a nice alternative to sneaking off into the woods. We're looking foreward to hooking up with them again this year. Its all about networking.... lol!!!!

Hey folks,
Hubby & I were late in getting to Riverbend last year and parked in this lot. We had a great time and have been e-mailing some Parrotheads that we met last time and we are planning a return trip. We did not walk to Riverbend, technically we staggered

. The walk was sort of a moving tailgate party. The only problem we had was the police would not let us cross Kellogg Ave with open containers, so we had to dispose of the booze in a timely manner -- chugging contest at the corner.
