I know people who are staying at the Holiday Inn on Lane, where there were a couple of tailgate parties in 2001. Also there is a Super 8 and a Red Roof very close to the Schott. 8)

Looks like our group has about 6 rooms at the Fairfield inn near campus. Anyone know how far a walk (or crawl) it is to the venue?

I used to work in the building right next to the Fairfield Inn (it was actually in the process of being built at the time). I'd say it's a little over 1/2 a mile from the Schottenstein Center.

I can easily walk/stumble that. I figure thats not too much different than the walk to riverbend from the lot we normally party in.

I am not sure, I need to check with the official planners. My job was to get the tickets. My birthday is the day before the show so I don't know if I will be going out in Lexington or driving up to Columbus to party. I guess it really depends on what kind of PH parties are going on the night before the show.

Yes, what is up for Friday as well? We need a local to give us the hotspots for partaking in the consumption of a few pops. Somebody help us out! :D

A couple of recommendations (let me first say that I would suggest find bars/hangouts other than the campus bars. My #1 recommendation would be this place: http://www.lazychameleon.com/
It's about 20 minutes from where most people are staying.......great atmosphere, not a bunch of underage kids, and sometimes there's live music. Worth the drive.

Another good place is Adobe Gila's at Easton Town Center:
http://www.eastontowncenter.com/tenants ... N=77512072
Twenty different kinds of tequila!!! Need I say more? (but i will anyhow - Chris Logsdon is usually there on Friday nights, and chances are if you're coming to Columbus to see JB at the Schott, you'll like Chris Logsdon's music as well.)

I mentioned a couple other bars in another post - Estrada (which IS a campus bar....it's on 9th or 10th ave if my memory serves me right) and El Vacquero on Olentangy River Road.

Hope this helps. If you need any other suggestions or info from a "local" (or former local, in my case :wench: ), let me know.......
