With the untimely death of J.J. Jackson, one of the original five VJ's at MTV, I'm curious...
What were your favorite videos, VJ's and memories of MTV??? Ya know..when MTV actually played videos...
Rock on, J.J....

Ahhh...I WANT MY MTV!!
I loved MTV when it was cool; late 80's and early 90's. Remember the game 'Remote Control'? That was too funny! And of course 'Headbanger's Ball'. (before it got stupid) But my all time favorite videos were by:

I remember when MTV first went on the air...watching The Buggles and Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
Now THAT was entertainment!

I grew up out in the country so my family didn't get cable until 1989 so I never saw any of the original MTV VJ's except in retropectives. Even though they played more "rock" videos back I think MTV has always sucked for the most part but I did like J.J. I've heard him on a quite a few Westwood One radio specials over the years and always enjoyed listening to him. At least you knew he was knowledgeable about the artists he spoke about.

Can't forget "Oh, Mickey, you're so fine." I think it played every hour on the hour when MTV first started.
