I don't remember Yankees fans complaining a few years ago when that kid reached over the right field wall and caught a fly ball that never would have made it over the fence. The Yankees got a home run out of it when it should have been fan interference because he reached into the field of play.

all rivalry aside...I truly believe that no one would want to win a series because of a bad call or because of cheating.

A-Rod wrote:I know that line belongs to me and he was coming at me," he said. "Once I reached out and tried to knock the ball, the call went against me. I should have just run over him.
did he really say that? If so, he gets the oscar for best actor in a drama!
That's quoted form an AP article.

I had a coach once whose theory on call was "if we are in a situation where a single call costs us a game, we should not win anyway"

I believe this as true.

A friend of mine just told me that if the Red Sox beat the Yankees tonight, it would be the first time in history for the Red Sox to make it into a World Series by beating the Yankees....... Is that true?????

It must be, the last time they were in the World Series was 1986. There weren't any wild card teams in the playoffs back then so the Red Sox and Yankees couldn't have played each other in the playoffs.

Before the playoffs started I said Cardinals/Red Sox. Since both teams are still alive that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

sorry, I have to go with what I saw...couldn't be any more obvious that tape reply over 10 times...then to act like he was shocked about the call???
And to comment on Pedro...I do not argue that he is dirty at times and throws at people...but to put Arod on base...with one already on and Shefiled coming up...thats pretty stupid!
It never would have been a question if Tim "I love the Yankees" McCarver didn't spout out immediatly after the pitch. He spoke without thinking and Joe Buck and Al Leiter did a great job to fluff it over.
