And I have no clue on tonight's either . . . is it obscure? Old? New?
Cowboy Mouth is from New Orleans and if they ever comes to town, definitely catch them. Very high energy, fun songs: "Jenny says, turn off the radio. Jenny says, turn off the lights" (from their biggest hit).
Tonight's is an homage to a wonderful artist who died unexpectedly of a heart attack in '03. Older song, infectious tune, catchy lyrics, all around cranking song. This is one I turn up when it comes on the radio (as it did today).

So I began to try to explain
That it just wasn't, just wasn't what ya tho-o-o-o-ought
I better find... somethin' to do with... my time
The fact is... I just been caught...

Sneaking Sally thru the Alley....Ringo!
and I never heard of Cowboy Mouth either...
Pulled out some old CD's today...Hadn't listened to this one in a long time!
You say it was this mornin’ when you last saw your good friend
Lyin’ on the sidewalk with the misery on his brain
Stoned on some new potion he found upon the wall
Of some unholy bathroom in some ungodly hall

Steppenwolf - Snowblind Friend
No more carefree laughter
Silence ever after
Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes
Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye

ABBA - Knowing Me, Knowing You
Hey have you ever tried
Really reachin' out for the other side
I may be climbin' on a rainbow
But baby here goes

Earth Wind & Fire - Make it with You
damn this song brings back some wonderful memories...thanks Cate
I'm coming home I've done my time
And I have to know what is or isn't mine
If you received my letter
Telling you I'd soon be free
Then you'd know just what to do

Oh tie a yellow ribbon
'Round the old oak tree
that would be Tony Orlando and Dawn..now that's a true blast from the past!!!!
and Y-NO...I ws correct on the artist...just couldn't come up with the title...I can still picture the album cover with a girls legs around Ringo's neck
Mary Mack dressed in black
Silver buttons up and down her back
I know mistletoe
She broke her needle now she can't sew

Didn't even know he did it. And, obviously, he didn't die in '03. I was speaking of Robert Palmer, same song tho.

Aerosmith - Walk the Dog (one of my all-time favs)
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

*singing along*
Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues
Young punk spilling beer on my shoes,
fat guy's talking to me trying to steal my blues.

I can't dance - Genesis
It used to be when I'd see a girl that I liked
I'd get out my book and write down her name
But when the grass got a little greener on the other side
I'd just tear out that page

OK, so I've looked everywhere but I can't find where the song was named "The Orb". I know I have seen it in print and quite possibly on the record label. I will accept your answer.

THIS one I KNOW . . . my boy Elvin Bishop! "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" . . .
Had it on an album called The South's Greatest Hits. Have looked for the compilation everywhere on CD with no luck.
Now that I've met you
would you object to
never seeing each other again
cause I can't afford to
climb aboard you
no one's got that much ego to spend

Cate?
Isn't that Aimee Mann??
If so..... (easy one tonight..but one of my most favorites!)
I went to see the doctor of philosophy
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee
He never did marry or see a B-grade movie
He graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper
And I was free.
If I was wrong about your song....Nevermind...(In my best Emily Lotilla voice)

Who knows how long I've loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime . . .

I LOVE that song...
I Will....off the White Album....
I don't know how many copies of that I wore out...
Need to drink a cup of coffee and check the chicken in the oven..Back in a few Cate ....
How do you cool your lips
After a summer's kiss
How do you rid the sweat
After the body bliss
How do you turn your eyes
From the romantic glare
How do you block the sound
Of a voice you'd know anywhere
