Boston area people, what hotels are near Fenway? I figure the closer I stay the less I have to stumble after the show. Money is no object. (That's not true, I just always wanted to say it.)

OK I got tickets. I had no intention of going to Fenway but I got tickets! Now I've got to talk my wife into it. Tampa was easy because it's in Florida..what else is in Boston that I could use to sell her on the idea?

I found this back on page 2. Just booked a king suite with living room for $169 per night, Sat and Sun nights.

For all of you planning to go to see Buffett at Fenway Park, and your asking yourself ware you are going to Tailgate... The Hotel Buckminster is the closest hotel to Fenway, less that a 2 min walk from their front door to Fenways enterance. Lets make it a parrot head village.
http://www.bostonhotelbuckminster.com Dont let the pictures on the Buckminster site fool you. their not as upscale as they would like to belive they are.

... If you really wanna drop some money that weekend.... Disney's THE LION KING will be at the New Opera House. Matinee & evening shows on saturday. Maybe that will entice your wife... a little theatre "culture" and Buffet.... well, "culture!"

The Buckminster had regular rooms listed for $89. Do any other locals know anything about this hotel? I'm thinking walking distance from the hotel is a good thing with no parking lot.

Four play- Just to help you and your wife out...
If it is a nice day Saturday you can go to Boston Common, walk around, take a ride on a duck boat or a swan boat.
http://www.swanboats.com/new/welcome.shtml
http://www.bostonducktours.com/pages/main.html
If your wife likes to shop, Newbury St is a great area to walk and shop, although pricey, and there is always Faneuil Hall, def a popular place to stop, shop and dine.
http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/
http://www.visitboston.org/shopping.html
There is also Copley/Prudential Center which is more your traditional mall.. but if you go to the top of the Prudential Building, there is the skywalk with great views of the city
http://www.prudentialcenter.com/play/skywalk.html
There are always great things playing in the theatre district too.. blue man group and shear madness I highly reccomend!!
http://www.blueman.com/ticketinfo/boston.shtml
http://www.shearmadness.com/boston.html
And if it is a rainy day there are plenty of museums
The Aquarium and Science Museum are probably the two most popular
http://www.neaq.org/index.flash4.html
http://www.mos.org/home.html
You will not want for great places to eat either anywhere you go. The North end is the best place for Italian food, but if you go you have to go to Mike's Pastry for dessert!!! It's to die for!! http://www.northendboston.com/dining.htm
And pretty much everywhere is accesible via the T ( the subway)
http://www.mbta.com/traveling_t/schedules_subway.asp
Good luck and I hope you enjoy the city!!!!!

The Buckminster is not one of Boston's finer hotels. Both the Sheraton and Hilton are also walking distance to Fenway and much nicer. With much nicer comes more expensive :-?
