Buffett-couples abound:

My SO, who inherited his PH ways from his parents, turned my Buffett interest into a Buffett obsession. We've attended concerts every year since we started dating and now we party with my sister and brother-in-law, another PH couple. Can't wait for Nissan, July 3rd!

My wife and I both got turned onto Jimmy at the same time (by my parents), so we're both full-fledged Parrotheads...haven't missed a show in 10 years *knock wood*

Although, she isn't *quite* as obsessive as I am about it. She loves the music, goes to all the shows, belongs to the local chapter, etc., but I'm always the one who is taking things just a wee bit further (if there is such a thing... :P )

You really need to look up the BN gang at Alpine this year. From my non-concert experiences, after roughly 1 minute, you'll feel like you've known them for years. (see the Alpine thread under Pre Concert Gatherings area, and get on the cell phone list.) Your new handy dandy lanyards will help spark conversation as well!

~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~
Thanks Tiki, I'll check out the alpine thread. And I will be on the lookout for the lanyards and nametags. I'll be wearing mine!!!
My wife of 13 1/2 years was another of those pretend reluctant spouses. She used to deny she was a parrothead and pretend she just kinda liked the music and would attend the shows if I bought tickets (which I always do). But she has now come out of the closet and gladly followed me to all the shows I have wanted to attend, dressing in the correct manner (full PH regalia) and getting into the spirit without any encouragement. Since we difer so much in the other music we like we can always agree to put on JB when we are in the car together. Since coming out of the closet the decor of our home is shifting to tropical, she encouraged me to build a tiki bar and our keets wear an awful lot of alhoa shirts.
Fins......reluctant is not the impression I get of you :D
BTW, thanks for all the work you have done on trying to get people together for Alpine. Rob was great, he isn't holding spots, but he said "Any friend of yours doesn't really have to worry" COOL
What was the topic here??? OH.... My wife knew Margaritaville and nothing else when we met. After our first date in '83 she somehow borrowed a copy of YHTBT so she could covertly learn Jimmy songs behind my back. We went to our first show together in '84 at Poplar Creek (Chi) and have seen about 15 shows together over the years. She can't listen all day and all night like I can. But 70 % of the tapes in her car are Jimmy
It will be 7 years in June!
And Jimmy keeps covering the band, so my baby has something to groove to
Oh geeze, you too?! I'm also married to a deadhead, although, he is begining to enjoy Buffett a little more. :)
WOW! You Wisconsin pholks really need to check into PHIP at
http://www.phip.com/chapters.cfm !
In a state of less than 6 million people, you have 5 PHC chapters!
That's a guaranteed place to find a few like-minded people.
(And for you singles, PHCs seem to spawn relationships too!)
My wife is not a major PH like I am. Luckily the other woman in my life(3 year old daughter) is a huge PH. She always wants to listen to Jimmy and she won't go to sleep at night unless a JB CD is playing in her CD player. I have 2 pavillion tickets for Nissan and I am not sure which one 2 take. Since I will be tailgaiting allday I guess the wife will have to go.
I guess Frank and I are really lucky, both of us have been ParrotHeads from day one (round about 1973) I remember it like it was yesterday, at the time we were listening to a new album that had just been released "a White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean" over and over again. (I just realized I think maybe we are getting old?) - Jerry Jeff Walker was also played a lot at parties back then. We don't get to see Jimmy in concert much because we're from Western Canada (eh!) but we have seen him in Vegas 5 times and in Hawaii in January. All our vacation allotment (and paychecks) are gladly used up trying to see Jimmy. Added bonus we both love Corona's and Margarita's, and Jimmy is all we listen to.
We love all you ParrotHeads, you are the greatest people we have ever met and every Phlocking is the most fun we have ever had.
p.s. The Tiki Bar is almost ready so we can put up our SIX FOOT Banner that says "OFFICIAL PARROTHEADQUARTERS ADMIT TWO with a huge picture of Jimmy. (we got it at Ricardo's at the MGM during the Tiki Time Tour)
I just recently met the girl of my dreams, even though we've never met in person. I'm sure you know who you are! She's everything I've ever dreamed of. PM me if you see this.
I love telling this story...
After we were married my wife heard me playing Jimmy and proclaimed "How can you listen to that? I can't stand Jimmy Buffett!". Well the yars went by and I wound up bringing our daughter to day care every day. Of course there was Buffett on constantly for the ride to and from. Very soon my wife was asking me what I "did to our girl" because she wanted to listen to Jimmy Buffet in MOM's car. Several tapes now have worn out in her player, Mom & the 'keets are diehard PH's and my nieces and nephew must have Jimmy on wherever they go. I think I've done my job!
My PH husband and I, found Jimmy together. Heck, we found almost everything together. We are going to be MARRIED 40 years this May.
He doesn't get on here. ( he doesn't do computer) but listens to me as I tell him what is on .
I lead and he follows into our adventures. 8)
