Hope to see you and many others from here at the show.
Hubby & I will be at Alpine. Let me tell you about one of our Buffett traditions. At each concert, we have our picture taken with one of our good Parrothead neighbors. Then once we get home, we frame the picture along with the ticket stubs, and hang the picture on our Buffett decorated porch. Since we use a digital camera, we can share the picture with the neighbors. These are some of my favorite souveniers from our travels. We would be pleased to have some of you folks on our wall of fame.
Running into each other backstage in the early 90's @ Merriweather is what got us together....kinda.....it's a LONG story, but YES we are both PH's and have the best time at every show we go get to @ Merriweather and Nissan and hopefully Camden Yards this fall!!

It will be 7 years in June!
And Jimmy keeps covering the band, so my baby has something to groove to
Oh geeze, you too?! I'm also married to a deadhead, although, he is begining to enjoy Buffett a little more.
I was the Deadhead and turned Mr. NJ into a micro-mini Deadhead so it's true, PH's and DH's do get along!
However, we're both crazy for Jimmy and the whole island mind set (although I'm a little bit MORE crazy )
Being PH's comes first and formost. Can't even imagine what it would be like living with a non PH for 17 years either. Good thing we've already converted the keets over from Barney music to Jimmy music.
My wife is a "yellow album" (SYKBH) kind of fan and that's fine with me.
If she loved Jimmy's music as much as I do then she would wanna tag along to the shows and other Buffett inspired outings (ie-boating, drunken binges etc.) and I just can't have that.

Does that mean he's not willing to hang out with PHs?
exactly 3 BNers have met him, and it wasn't at a Buffett event. Two live nearby and one was visiting. it's not so much "willing"... he wouldn't mind hanging out with BNers to go sailing, or to the beach.... but not to a concert.... nope, ain't gonna happen... (which is probably a good thing for everyone involved)...

I just started reading these discussion boards recently and it is the best thing to be surfing through and find that your SO has replied to this topic!
I was married for about ten years to someone who didn't get it..... thought it was OK to leave at 6:30 for a 7:30 show..... That only happened once. I then went to shows by myself and just walked around meeting people and having the time of my life.... Until last year when I drove over to Tampa by myself.. no ticket.. just a 12 pack of Corona and my camera, looking forward to the good times I usually have. The first person I see that is picture worthy is this guy building a tiki bar - right there I'm thinking - this is my kind of man. Turns out he was, and after one year... still is. Les and I have been enjoying the music of Buffett, Traveling to Alpine Valley, trips to the keys via the ragtop, and just an everyday good feeling of being with someone who "gets it". He is the best thing that ever happened to me and I look forward to as many Alpine Valleys as I can get. I don't know which of us is crazier - but those of you going on the party bus from Janesville to Alpine Valley can be the judge of that...look forward to meeting everyone!!!! Remembering could be another story!![/url]
I'm lucky. Mrs. Port and I go to every show we can together.
As far as the Parrothead and Deadhead thing goes I'm both and I get along with myself just fine thanks!

I believe like most of you that sharing life with another who appreciates JB and the parrothead philosophy would be ideal.
I used to date a parrothead, met him at migration. He thought he converted me, but I was already hooked. What was kewl was how he expanded my knowledge of music and trivia.
I need someone in my life who can appreciate that when in my car, the cd changer has one mode for all six cd's. That we can listen to the same music over and over again, never being bored or resent that other music might not be played. (even though I love other sorts of music). Still looking for that pearl.
To me, being a parrothead is more than a being a fan of the music or artist, but it is a lifestyle that I have come to embrace. (Even though reality sometimes interferes)
Whoever enters my life will have to be prepared for Left Coast concerts, trips to Key West and all the joy that comes from a music/lifestyle.
My other half just rolls her eyes most of the time when it comes to Jimmy, but she lets me do my thang when he comes to town. She came with me to two concerts but that was about all she could handle. My daughter, Savannah, is showing promise..........
