Possibly the worst JB song ever...

Post by kurt »

Okay, I can't keep it quiet anymore. Last night I was listening to 'The Far Side of the World' CD and I believe Mademoiselle (Voulez-Vous Danser) is the worst JB tune. I'm curious... does anyone think there is a JB tune that is even worse than this?

I dont really care much for anything off FSOTW and BHOTM ... a couple of good tunes, but I never play those CD's at all - I think they have been in the CD player just the once or twice ....

Sorry, I love Mademoiselle. It's a great, slow tune, far better than some of the others on the disc like Hokey Pokey, and Altered Boy. Just my two cents. I also enjoy " You Call it Jogging." Funny song that is fun to sing along with.

Can't disagree with the Hokey Pokey thing... That song makes me wanna jab a fork in my eye!
Personally, I like Voulez-Vous Danser... Couldn't tell you what the hell the song is about, but its got a very nice soothing rhythm. In fact after reading this post I've had it in my head all morning and have started the day on a good note! So, thanks!

I have to second(or third) Hokey Pokey and Math Sux. Novelty songs worth one listen, but that's enough for me. Also I absolutely can't stand Creola. Sounds like a damn commercial jingle.

Yeah, not a fan of Creola....there are also some songs that totally rock when he does them live, but their old original studio recording counterparts are really bad....but hey! I'll listen to any JB! I'd rather listen to jimmy's not-so-great stuff over a ton of "more popular" or new music.

I don't even think it's the worst song on that album.
Look I'm a little slow today, I just switched to Sanka, so have a heart.

I totally agree. When it comes to the title track of "Far Side of the World", Jimmy sings a little flat especially at the end where he and the CRfr's crescendo but when he does it live, WOW!! That's great live!

i love Mademoiselle also. i think the song is relaxing and really well written as far as lyric and instrumentation. my least favorite is USS Zydlcoldsmobile.

i think that is the spelling. yeah another song from farside of the world. strange thing is that its one of my favorite albums and has some of my favorite buffett songs.

No matter what your least favorite JB song is, all you have to do is turn on the Britney Spears Live From Miami video, turn the sound down, crank up your least favorite JB song and somehow it will sound better. :pirate:

Interesting...I'm actually quite fond of every song mentioned in this thread thus far. However, the one song that I always skip over is "Livin' It Up."

I like Voulez-Vous Danser, but Hokey Pokey is a song that gets skipped over every time. I've never heard Math Sux, just because of the negative feelings it invokes in so many people around here. How could so many Parrotheads be wrong?
