I can't remember the source, but I read something the other day that todays house buying topic in the MSC made me remember and I thought I would share it.

We as Americans- so very much take for granted our wealth. Yes I mean wealth. When you factor in 1.5 billion chinese, the rest of Asia, Africa, South America and Australia, even those of us struggling by American standards have great wealth when put in the perspective of the entire globe.

Think About this....

If you are able to provide for your family basic shelter, ie rent an apartment or small house, have adequet food and clothing to survive and own a vehicle of any age in working condition you are IN THE TOP 10% OF WEALTHIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

If you own your own home of any size. Are able to provide adequet food and clothing for your family and own two vehicles of any year in any condition,YOU ARE IN THE TOP 5% WEALTHIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

In other words about 90% of Americans represent 90% of the total wealth of planet earth. The top 1% of Americans probably account for 99.8% of that total. When you think about it, can you maybe understand a little better why Americans have become so hated? Think of what is consumed by our +286 mil. people verses what is consumed by the rest of the entire worlds population. And yes, I am as guilty of excess as anyone......

But now I think about it a little

You have to remember, there are a lot of ya! which would put your stats up - ie there are only 18 million people in Australia.

But you do need to be grateful. Anyone having been to third world countries (I have not, but have seen poverty in Indonesia and Fiji etc) - it really makes you grateful for where you live and what you have!
