A Jimmy Buffett Action Figure. . . .. ???????

Post by MidwestPhish »

That's what I proposed on the www.mcfarlane.com message boards. For those of you who don't know Mcfarlane Toys makes action figures, very cool, realistic, popular action figures. I collect the Sports Figures, however, they also make Kiss, Motley Cru, and just came out with Jimi Hendrix. Now I could use some support, if you guys wanan post on the thred i created in support of a figure then follow the link to the message board. . . The thread is Wrong Board, Wrong, Crowd, but Still. . . . .

http://board.spawn.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=6

Take a look either way at some of the figures they make, would you be in favor of one? would you buy one? I just wonder how they'd sell. There are lots of people at the shows but how many of those people are Parrotheads?? But it's a thought. . . . Personally, I'd love a few of thme, one in his old white sneakers and khaki shorts, and an updated one barefoot and in his long board shorts. . how cool !!!!

I'd buy one. McFarlane makes INCREDIBLE looking figs (I own a handful).

The fun part would be coming up with all the features:

"with realistic guitar-strumming action!"
"with authentic beach ball-kicking leg movement!"
"with kung-fu margarita grip!"
"includes removeable wrist bands and signature guitar!"
"each Jimmy figure comes complete with bare feet and receding hairline!"

Of course they would have to do several variations: "Concert Jimmy", "Aviator Jimmy", Sailboat Jimmy", etc.

Ack. I could do this all day. Can you tell I'm a child of the 70's? :D

I'd rather see an AF action figure. Something tells me it would get into a helluva lot more trouble! :P

How about young jimmy, old jimmy, and everything notable in between? You know, long haired hippie jimmy, YHTBT mustache jimmy, 80s jimmy, and now "somebody stole my hair" jimmy

One of the figures would have to come with a blender (and small bottle of Margaritaville Tequila) and the blown out flip flop. :D

Mcfarlane does an amazing job. He did all the "action figures" for Shrek. They look great and I was able to get one of each at cost!

He even came out to the company to talk to us and give autographs. He signed at Spawn comic for me. Real funny and interesting guy!

I guess question would be:

"Which Jimmy would you want?"

From which album/tour?

Long hair / No hair?

Can you imagine "Pilot Bubba"?

I love it!

I have a good friend who is a SERIOUS action figure collector, and a few years ago he graduated to making his own custom figures (this is the natural progression for action figure nuts...they invariably end up not being able find production figures of characters they want, so they end up making their own).

Anyway, maybe it's time I lean on him to make us some Buffett figures... :D

It could also come with a surfboard, a fishing boat, an airplane. And have other clothes: hawaiian shirt, wetsuit, tux, "Don't Stop the Carnival" outfit, and let's not forget....the ever-present PINK SHIRT!!!!!!

You asked for it, you got it. This has been the most requested action figure. Yes, people have actually emailed me asking me to make more "figures." I'm just glad everyone is getting a laugh out of these. :-)
