Red Tide on the Northern Gulf coast?

Were leaving soon for a week on Dauphin Island,AL and have heard word that red tide is in and we wont be able to get in the water. Not that we'll probably be in it much due to cold water temp but hey, were from the north. I'll be happy to just be burying my toes in the sand with a nice cold Pacifico in hand. But Im sure the kids will want to get wet at least one day.
Anyone know about this or if its going on now?

I just know that the red tide in Naples/Ft. Myers would make my lungs hurt and my eyes burn. We seemed to have it on a regular basis down there. I avoided going within a couple of miles of the Gulf during those episodes and I *still* would hurt with the right breeze.

Nope, thankfully there wasnt any Red Tide! Wasnt the warmest week weve ever had on the Gulf Coast but at least I was living on a beach and Not here! The Island was relaxing and we even made it to Lulu's for a great lunch. Ahhh the dolphins, the cold Pacifico's, the Buffett, the sand, I need to win the lottery......
