Mr. Bones BBQ is a great place. Its on either Siesta Key or Anna Maria Island. Best BBQ I've ever had and a fun place to check out. When you walk in there is an ice filled coffin where you grab your beer (the side of the coffin has a bottle opener). It is also family friendly.

Moore's Stone Crab on Longboat Key is a good seafood place on the intercoastal waterway. Good food and family friendly.

I've seen a few though never took one. I DID fly an ultralight around that area and that was a blast (especially flying around a thunderstorm). Most of the stores/restaurants have free maps of the keys in that area including ads/coupons for things to do. I've seen more than one for parasailing and that is where I saw the ad for the ultralight.

Cool things to see from the air (which the keets would likely see parasailing) are sea turtles, manatees, dolphins and sharks (the sharks aren't anywhere near the swimmers).

Ah, although there isn't a local Margaritaville there is a Tommy Bahama store and restaurant at St. Armands Circle (a little pricey though but worth a visit for a drink). I should be making my yearly trip in June/July. Right around that time they have the boat racing Grand Prix. :D

Bixx - you'll find parasailing and restaurants quite plentiful on Siesta Key....especially during spring break. Siesta Key is relatively small with one lane roads so expect alot of congestion especially with spring break. You're going to fall in love with the beach.........it is so white and soft!!! God I miss it  Have an AWESOME time!!!!

Not only is Siesta beach great...but you can bring likker, too!!!

8)

Lotsa good places on Stickney Point road...The southern connector road over the intercoastal....We like Coasters, which is right on the intercoastal...Kid friendly, reasonably priced, outside deck...

Anna Maria has some great places too...The Sand Bar, Rotten Ralphs, as well as Shells all come to mind....

St. Armands is real nice but real pricey too!!! :o

Yes the beaches are awesome. I can't understand WHY someone would move from there to snowy Colorado :-?
