Phish has confirmed a brief summer tour consisting of 13 dates in six cities. The itinerary kicks off with one of two scheduled one-night stands, June 17-18 at Brooklyn, N.Y.'s KeySpan Park, and will visit Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Noblesville, Ind., and East Troy, Wis. An August leg comprises a pair of shows in Mansfield, Mass., and a single night in Camden, N.J.
The group kicks off a three-night Las Vegas stand tonight (April 14) at the city's Thomas & Mack Center.
A limited number of tickets for the summer shows will go on sale April 21 through the band's own Phish Ticketing system. Public ticket sales are slated to begin the weekend of May 15.
The tour will lead up to a two-day festival the band is hoping to stage Aug. 14-15 in its native Vermont. "The process is going well and we hope to announce definitive details before the end of the month," the band says on its official Web site.
Phish's production company has reportedly applied for a Federal Aviation Administration permit to close the Newport State Airport in Coventry, Vt. Last year Phish staged its IT event at the Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine, the same site that hosted the band's 1997 Great Went festival and the following year's Lemonwheel.
As previously reported, Phish has been in its Vermont studio, the Barn, working on its 10th studio album. The as-yet-untitled is expected in mid-June via Elektra.
On April 6, guitarist Trey Anastasio released the seven-track instrumental set "Seis de Mayo" through the label. Anastasio and Phish drummer Jon Fishman are slated to appear in separate solo settings at the third Bonnaroo festival, June 11-13 in Manchester, Tenn.
Fishman is to perform with the Jazz Mandolin Project, which is additionally scheduled to open three early June dates in California (June 3 in San Diego, June 4 in Los Angeles and June 5 in San Francisco) for Vida Blue, a group led by Phish keyboardist Page McConnell.
Here are Phish's tour dates:
April 15-17: Las Vegas (Thomas & Mack Center)
