Yes but If you have to explain then they wouldn't understand in the first place.

Yes, all the time
The last girl I dated before I met Mrs is a perfect example. She worked with me and her friends came to see her the afternoon after our first date. And the one girl said to my gf, "Did he make you listen to that Jimmy Buffett sh*t all night" and that was 20 years ago
Needless to say, the b*tch didn't last long

Yea, but then they say alot of things that do matter much. I don't think there is a problem to have Jimmy on the main stereo, the bedroom stereo, the car stereo, the office stereo and the stereo in my keets room. Hell, that's only 5 stereos, Jimmy's got alot more cd's than that.
I've got coastal confessions and a few more, how about you?

Yeah, so this time I'm taking my boss to the Raleigh show. I'll be going with my wife, 2 daughters, brother, etc. to the Charlotte show. So just because I see him a couple of times every year and keep the cd player loaded with his music, and just because I plan vacations based on where a Magaritaville is located, and just becasue I have a room in the house dedicated to concert posters and pictures, and..... WHAT WAS THE QUESTION?

All the time... Last week (before my Charlotte trip got the kybosh) I told my boss I was going to Charlotte for the weekend. "Oh nice! Why?" she said. I answered, "To see a Jimmy Buffett concert!". So she said "oh and you have family down there?". "No.. Just going for the show then coming back."
She stopped asking me questions after that and just looked at me funny and walked back to her office... Hehehehhee....

Do I know you, seriously, we are taking my boss to Columbus. We have Buffett tunes on computer, 2 CD players in the house, both cars; spent major vacation time at Margaritaville ( Charleston in March and Myrtle Beach in Oct) and we have a Buffett room. You sound like a quality person!!!sjlmk wrote:Yeah, so this time I'm taking my boss to the Raleigh show. I'll be going with my wife, 2 daughters, brother, etc. to the Charlotte show. No, but I am told I should seek help with my SpongeBob problem. Is it abnormal for an adult to have more SpongBob toys thgan their child? As for Buffett, well I am flying to Lauderdale just for the show, and I did give up jewlery for birthday for a couple of $50 seats, and I did beg to give up the rights to a nice birthday present in August (my actual birthday) for tix now so.........

Do you think a person is obsessed if every cd in their car plays buffett
, they look for 5 o'clock somewhere on the radio when they get off of work
, when they go to Margaritaville they feel they're home and buy thing
s to make their residence more like Margaritaville? I think that's the way it's supposed to be... ....right?!

some people just don't get it
There are worse problems to have.... My kids at school think it is funny. As soon as school school is done in the summer my kids are shocked to see that all I wear are flip flops and tropical shirts.... I love buffett, my wife loves buffett, my three year old son loves the music. One of my great memories so far in my life was to see him bobing his head in the car at 9 months old the first time he heard "blue guitar". Brings a tear to my eye everytime I think about it.

All of the time! I drive to Ringling to see if it is still is a dying little town, go to Livingston to see if it's rockin and a rollin on a Saturday night (the old Buffett bars are gone!). My idea of the perfect road trip is to drive across the country to go to Lulu's. Someday I will make it there.
When I was at the MOTM Mini Mart, I picked up a sign that has on it: "Off to See Jimmy, maybe back Never!" I will be hanging that up in my office when I go to MOTM. Most people at the office just humor me, those who don't just ignore me as I'm the only parrothead there.

My wife thinks I'm nuts. Also, my job used to provide me a company car that my staff could use also. I always had Buffet in the CD player, and, they thought I was nuts (although a couple of them started to really get into Buffet and even started too attend shows). Alot of people don't get it (Remember, some get it, some don't); and I think most of the folks that don't "get it"; are the ones that just havent heard alot of the music outside of SYKBH and don't realize how much great music he has outside of his "mainstream" (use that loosely) songs.
