Well I went to the fly in today in Lakeland and man was it great. A little breezy, but perfect skies. So many mouth watering airplanes that I can't have..it';s depressing. Also at the big food court area this year is a temporary Margaritaville. Buffett music playing, parrothead chairs all over the place, a nice bar with overpriced margaritas, but still great. Many decorations around from the now over Tiki Tour and a tent at which I bought a few shirts. I you Florida people are interested in a good time check it out. Remember to take a pilot so you can get out to the flightline,or it's not worth all $30.

Did you get to the lake? The splash in started yesterday. Spoke with one of Jimmy's pilots yesterday, he took the 208 up there, just for the day.
I was going to bring one of the G-73T's up, but maintenance issues and prior commitments precluded a public appearance.

BTW, Jimmy didn't go, just the plane.

How long does it last? Weekend? Week? Day? Just curious. I'm not too far away. I don't jack about planes except that they are cool as hell. Do you have to be an expert or pilot, or do they let anybody in?

runs through monday, to add they had two beautiful albatrosses out on the runway area. One with a great ocean mural on the side. I would have liked to get over to the lake if I could have today, but I had to work. Though I did get to take a mouthwatering demo flight In a Lancair Columbia. Oh my godddd....I was ready to drool all over the leather. The $300k price tag is sooo worth it, it is super speedy and handles like a dream. The side mounted control stick is awesome. I like it much better that a traditional yoke. Remeber people you have until monday... Either join the EAA or bring a pilot to get to the flight line, they have some immaculate warbirds. Some P-51's and a bunch of T-6's.
