Do your keets have a favorite Jimmy song?

Post by island_hopper »

I have seen many posts about our favorite songs....how about your keets? Do they get into Jimmy? Do they have a favorite song/s?

My 4 year old Morgan loves Jimmy and goes through her different favorite song stages like the rest of us....it's too cute! Right now she's loves Gypsies in the Palace.....and prefers the Last Mango version. She completely gets into it, sings along and even adds a few yeehaws! Every time we get into the car the first thing she asks is "can we listen to Gypsies in the Palace????"

Some of her other recent favorites have been Tiki Bar, Knees of My Heart, Come Monday and of course Jolly Mon.

Carie my oldest (10) is now confused. She liked Cheeseburger and Volcano till we bought her "Meet Me In Margaritaville" for Christmas, now she likes them all. She has begun borrowing individual cd's from my collection.

Erin, my 7 year old is a Volcano girl, or as my little sings Bowlcano

Emily my 4 year old got a note home from preschool a while back. "Bill, do you realize Emily sings "Its Five O'Clock Somewhere" all day long" So I would have to say that is her favorite.....for now
"Boat drinks, waitress we........nevermind"

CIP is the favorite in my house right now. But they love the Fins dance and Five O'Clock Somewhere. And they think it's funny when I change the words to M'ville to "it's all Mommy's fault" :D

Ours was WDWGDAS but we told them it was Why Don't We Get Lunch at School (heard Buffett refer to it that way at a concert) of course they were too smart and told us that they KNEW it was Why Don't We Get Drunk at School.....

My four year old seems to like all of them. 5o'clock has been a recent favorite. But this morning he was trying to sign pascagoula run. Can't quite say it right (heck, I can't quite spell it right)
The two year really likes fins cause of the hand motions.
And, I've been have a very difficult time keeping them away from my Caribbean Amphibian Kermit. They don't understand why they can't take Daddy's toy out of the box and play with it.

of course with both of my keets when they were infants and crying and nothing would help, I'd put on the Ballads CD and they would stop crying instantly and eventually go to sleep. Other kid type music (lullabys and such) wouldn't work

GOOD ONE!!!

My keet understood the words but not the meaning. I had to tell him it was about getting drunk and building something with wood and screws. But also told him some people think that it was a dirty song so he really didn't want to sing it at daycare.

Worked for a while too

Ahhh yes, how could I forget Fins?? She loves the Fins dance and it's also helped her learn left and right. :D

It's great to see so many of our keets have such good musical taste! Even the ones who are not yet born! Awesome!

My 3 year olds favorite songs are It's 5 O'clock Somewhere, Come Monday, Fins and Margaritaville. She knows all the words to 5 O'clock and Come Monday, she dances and does the fins and of course she knows when to say, "Salt, Salt, Salt'.

LMAO!!

Those are both GREAT! I recently posted this in the misunderstood lyrics thread, but not too long ago I was listening to the recent San Jose show and during this song I noticed she was singing along. When it came to that part I was very curious as to what she would say.......it came out "why don't we get drunk, that's true". :D

Cameron is 4 and Colton is 2. They both like just about anything Buffett but we do Fins together almost daily. Cameron saw Jimmy doing the shark bite thing on the Mini Matinee and he's getting pretty good at it. My wife thinks we're all nuts.

I don't think they could pick a favorite, but they definitely get up and move to Five O'Clock, Fins, Volcano, and Cheeseburger. Both yell at the top of their lungs to the above and most others too.

Highlight of 5-Year-old: Pirate Looks at 40 - "Wanted to sail upon your waters, AND I am 3 feet tall!" :D
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

My 4 year old daughter is also ready for the "Salt,Salt,Salt" portion of Margaritaville. In addition to Fins (hand gestures) and CIP (which I had to correct her the other day from saying 'Cheeseburger and Hair and Ice') she loves One Particular Harbour (this has become our song :D ). But her all time favorite is probably Christmas in the Caribbean.

My 2 year old daughter likes them all. I guess time will tell which one/ones will be her favorite.

For anybody that has keets and has yet to get the Parakeets Album, get it, everything is appropriate(rated G) on it. My keets go to sleep to it every night.
I've got coastal confessions and a few more, how about you?
