Taking Photos At Concerts
I am sorry if this has been discussed before. I am new to the site and heading to the Ft. Lauderdale show. I want to take some pics, but don't want security to take my new camera.
Is picture taking allowed at the shows? Any tips?
Thanks for any help!

I know, you found the camera on the floor after you got inside and you had no choice but to take the pictures. Right Des?Desdamona wrote:No. "Cameras and recording devices of any kind are strictly prohibited."bigcrazydave wrote:Is picture taking allowed at the shows? Any tips?

It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win

Last year at Great Woods I sat in the 4th row and I brought a disposable camera in by a mistake, I realized I had it once I got in but completely forgot to take any pics what a dumb a$$ I was. I guess I was enjoying the show being that close I just forgot. I walked in with it in one the cargo type pockets in my shorts on my the side of my leg. I don't think they even patted me down. Give it a try just don't take any pics with it before you birng it in you may loose them if they take it.

My wife and I have a great system for getting cameras into the concert. She keeps the camera with her but it doesn't have any film in it. She shows it to the security guard and shows them that there is no film in it. They let her go on in, and I wait a few minutes then I go through the line with a couple of rolls of film in my pocket. They see I don't have a camera so they let me go in. It has worked everytime. Buffett's security guards that stand in front of the stage caught me once taking pictures from the 2nd row and he just asked me very politely to stop, which I did. I wouldn't want to argue with him, he is huge! After that same concert, we seen him and one of the other security guards outside of the venue and my wife took my picture in between them. It was awesome! They said that they had just taken Jimmy's mom to her hotel room after the show. I treasure that picture!

I was in the second row center at Blossom a few years ago (yep, I got the lucky lottery number at the grocery store tickemaster outlet) anyways, I was sitting right next to the area they let professional photographers come down and take pictures. They literally had one song per photographer and promptly escorted them out when their song was done. There was a Buffett security guy that had the sole purpose of busting people up front taking pictures. He would actually become irate and scream at the local security if he saw someone with any type of camera taking pictures. This guy was out of control. Thats my experience with close up photography of JB. Me, I click the pictures in my mind, never run out of film.

I brought a camera phone into the Raleigh show last night. They actually didn't even look in my bag at all, so I could have brought a regular camera. Unfortunately, it was too dark and the pictures did not come out so hot. I did get one of Bruce with everyone doing fins in the background!

For the past 2 years at Greatwoods our group of friends has brought at least 3 digital cameras into each show and took a ton of pictures hanging out in the lawn and never had any problems. I think they were too concerned with all of the drinks we were trying to finish up while going through the check gate to even think about cameras.
