Buffett showed up for Johnny Clegg's performance at Sunfest yesterday, a 5-day music festival in West Palm Beach, FL. As we all know, Buffett covered Clegg's Great Heart on Hot Water. Clegg is a world music performer from South Africa. He introduces the song by saying how happy he was to have another singer/songwriter cover one his songs and goes on to say that he called Jimmy the day before to ask him to come on stage to sing. Jimmy sang the second verse. The crowd went nuts of course. Jimmy hung around back stage till the set was over. It looks like he had Savannah and Cameron with him. After the JB concert the night before in Sunrise, FL, followed by an incredible performance by Clegg, and the cameo by JB, what a fabulous way to end a weekend!

Clegg and his band were awesome. Highly energetic/feel good music. To tell you the truth, I went to see him because I knew JB covered Great Heart and I had to check him out. I'm glad I did. Gotta get some of his music.

'Third World Child' is his best CD in my opinion...

Scatterlings of Africa is the song that first introduced me to Johnny Clegg and Juluka back in the early 80s. I remember at first it reminded me a bit of Jethro Tull. Cool to see Buffett joining forces with him these days.

When Buffett first got to the stage, he says..."Looks like I'm not the only Johnny Clegg fan." Our local newspaper praised his performance highly and are hoping he returns. Me too! P.S. Thanks for the tip on the CD.
