I saw Jimmy at the benefit for Timothy White at Madison Squrae Garden with James Taylor doing Mexico. That was great JB & JT together. The other would be Billy Joel, Sherril Crow

we love james taylor - saw him a few years back from the 8th row and it definetly ranks in my top 5 shows i've seen.

here's my ultimate concert:

July 4th
outdoors - warm (not too hot) near water
Eagles take the stage at 3pm - play 3 hrs
Club Trini - warm up
Buffett & CRs take stage at 8 - play full LTC set with special appearances by Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney

Final encore - Fingers surprises fans and joins Jimmy for Pirate Looks at 40 and finishes show with Wonder Why We Ever Go Home (after which, none of us would want to go home)

followed by fireworks...whadya think? :pirate:

I was at that show too and it was a great version of Mexico, but I thought the highlight of the show was Brian Wilson. How about JB & Brian together?

I think the ultimate show would have been Jimmy in his "Down to Earth" and "High Cumberland Jubilee" days, with Jim Croce.

Brian Wilson with JB would be awesome. The part I remember most about that show was when Don Henley, Timothy B Shmidt and I think Sting, Mellencamp, JB & JT all came on together and I think sang a old spiritual song I only wish I could remember what it was.

I'd like to see Buffett do a small theater tour with other songwriters in tow such as Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, John Hiatt and Joe Ely are doing later this year. I'd love to see him work with the first three (nothing against Ely, I'm just not that familar with his work) and/or Jerry Jeff, John Prine and Todd Snider. Of course there would be no Coral Reefer orchestra, stage props, or any of the tunes that have become concert staples. The focus would be on songs that normally don't get played and the comaradrie of all of them sitting around trading each others songs and some they all share as influences. Not to mention all the stories they could tell (sorry, couldn't resist). It also wouldn't hurt my feelings if special guests dropped in along the way such as Fingers, Michael Martin Murphy, Mac, James Taylor, etc., and a few Coral Reefers (past and present).

Jimmy Buffett and Gordon Lightfoot sitting side by side with acoustic guitars and helping each other out with their ballads.

I've heard two JB/JJW shows, I would love to be at one. I think the Buffett Taylor show would be awesome. A few years ago Buffett played Camden the night after JT played Philly. I was sure JT was going to come on stage for at least one song. No such luck.

Come to find out later that JT was backstage at the Buffett show!

But if I could get Jimmy Buffett and Jim Morris on the stage together, that would be my dream concert!

I think all of these suggestions sound great!

I would like to see Jimmy and Willie Nelson do a show together. I think that could be interesting.

Has anyone been to the Morada Bay Cafe ( I think that's the right name) in Islamorada? If you haven't been there I highly reccommend it. Its on the right hand side as you head south on Rt.1 right after Pierre's and right before the Big huge fishing store. Its pretty well hidden. We found it by following a path from the Fishing store. Its the best place in the whole world- good food, right on the water and tables in the sand- when it gets dark there are tiki torches and a guy playing Buffett/James Taylor-like music on a little tiki hut-like stage with the sun setting in the background. talk about heaven. Seeing JB somewhere like that would be awesome. But I think that opportunity has passed us by. For now I will be happy with seeing JB where ever I can and listening to the amatuers at the Cafe when ever I am lucky enough to get down to the Keys.
