Wouldn't This Be Cool?

This is a bit off topic, but I was just imagining how cool it would be if Jimmy would offer something like this...

http://www.ricksmerch.com/index.asp?Pag ... ustom&ID=6

Rick Springfield (don't ask why I was surfing his site) is offering a true limited edition to his new CD Shock/Denial/Anger/Acceptance. What's cool is this isn't your Best Buy variety of a limited edition disc - you know, the ones with a different jewel case or a bonus DVD.

No. Instead for the shocking price of $96, you get a hand signed (I'm presuming by Springfield although it doesn't actually make that clear) and limited edition numbered CD package that contains the new disc, a second disc with career spanning outtakes and a DVD with an interview and a few other segments. Finally, everyone who buys the CD will be entered to win dinner with Rick Springfield.

Seriously...who here wouldn't plop down $96 for a similar package if Buffett were to offer one? Just think, for the price of a tank of gas ;-), you could have the License To Chill CD, a rarities CD chock full of goodies like Please Take Your Drunken 15-Year-Old Girlfriend Home, Don't Bring Me Candy, Margaritaville [just kidding] and Abandoned on Tuesday, and a full-length DVD with interviews and performances. Oh, and the chance to dine with Bubba.

Ah, a Parrothead can dream, can't he?

It would also be cool if Jimmy played a free concert for Vernon Hills Days, which is where I saw Rick Springfield a few years ago, but I don't think that's gonna happen either!!!

All kidding aside, it would be awesome, but they would sell out in about a minute in Jimmy's case!

haha!

nope!

Buffett CD's here cost over $30 each and the DVD was near $50 - I could not tell you the last time I bought one...

Luckily - I get through a contact in the USA ... I just wont pay that for things....

And Greg Brady was selling pictures of himself to autograph for $5 and I didnt buy one :P

Nope.

It's just a marketing ploy...limited edition...numbered...enter to win...
"free" old songs and footage...

I'd pass.

Oh its a marketing ploy...that's for certain. But I have to agree with Tiki Bar, they'd sell out of 'em in about three minutes flat. And they could sell more than 3,500 if they wanted.

Oh well, I just thought it was cool.

It is a cool idea for making money sure.... and there are plenty of people out there that would pay for it ....

I got Buffett cds that have never found their way in to my stereo for years - just too many to play is where it is at!

Seems like a good way to make money, but I think I'd pass.

If Jimmy put out a cd with all new songs I would pay $96 for it. I have like 20 cds of his and they all have the same songs over and over..I love JB, but......

I'd pay the $96 for a one in 3,500 chance to have a cheeseburger w/ Bubba. I might even buy two to double my chances :D

But a good clean copy of PTYD15YOGH and a few other rarities would be priceless in my opinion.

It would be nice if he did another box set with some of these true rarities on it and if Tales from Margaritavision ever gets the DVD treatment it would also be nice if he threw in a few extras that we've never seen before.
