MAKE sure about the cups!! I went to a Buffett concert in '94 and got a ticket for drinking out of a beer can ( I've now graduated to bottles). I never paid the ticket, I wonder if there is a warrant out for my arrest? :o

the cops do patrol the parking lot.. your best bet is to bring bit 16 oz cups and pour what ever you have into them... cans and bottles = tickets

If I remember correctly there are no "gates" on the lot. I've arrived very early for shows in the past and they hadn't set up the ticket people yet so we just drove in and set up shop. Yet another reason to get there early...Free parking!!!

I'm staying there too, we are checking in on Friday we all will have to get some sort of party going in the hotel lot they were pretty cool in 2002 as long as you dont get loud and bother any other Parrothead party goers. The cops are cool they will even stop by for some food, just keep it in a cup they usually don't check id's.

It's a state park and you're not supposed to drink. If the cops started checking ID they'd probably have to give you a summons, even if you were over 21.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

I've been to a few shows at Jones Beach. I found it the same as everyone else. As long as your not acting like a complete idiot, and as long as the drinks are in cups, they won't bother you.

parking at the beach is free, Unless you opt for the VIP parking. I've been to numerous concerts at the beach (jimmy and others, and as long as you have it in cups and arent out of control the park rangers wont bother you.
