Just got back.
Margaritaville was fun...during the day!
At night, it becomes like a big frat party, with the band playing lots of classic drinking songs to get the crowd whipped into a frenzy.
Only problem is...none of the songs are Buffett songs!!
I enjoyed visiting during the day to watch the videos and listen to the music. Lots of tourists (covered with either oil or severe sunburns) who know very little about Jimmy. Young thing next to me at the outside bar upstairs (awesome setting on the Strip) thought Jimmy only plays in Key West!! For many folks, this is just another big bar in Sin City...
Now, Coyote Ugly, on the other hand...

Stayed at the Westin Casuarina on Flamingo, almost right around the corner (as Vegas distances go!) from Margaritaville. It was actually pretty nice, because it's a smaller hotel, yet still has a bar and small casino. It was a good refuge from the din and clamor of the Strip. I get disoriented in the mega-casinos and the constant crowds can be a drain after awhile. This way I could venture onto the Strip and retreat when necessary to recharge my batteries.
Interesting side note: I scored FREE tickets to the taping of Last Call With Carson Daly at the Hard Rock. Guests were Tom Arnold, Daisy Fuentes (great mind!!), and Blue Man Group!!! Got lucky on that one!
Vagas is great fun in small doses.
