What song or songs would you want played at you funeral. I was at a funeral for a friend recently and she had everyone wear sports jerseys and they sang take me out to the ball game. Has anyone else thought about this for their funeral?

First of all, sorry to hear about your friend...
Since you didn't particularly mention that it had to be JB, here are the songs I would want:
OPH - Jimmy Buffett
Your Song - Elton John
I'm sure there's more but I can't think of them now...

I find it kind of heartening the trend away from the serious buttoned down funerals of late. My cousins husband was buried in his best Red Sox clothing. A dear friend who passed away last month was buried in his plaid shirt and fishing hat. His wife said:"How else will God recognize him?"
When we went to pick out a headstone for my mom last fall I saw a beautiful stone with a sailboat sailing into the sunset. It got me to thinking that's what I would want for myself. I've been working on what lyric to have inscribed on it.
I've told my wife I would want OPH played for me. It speaks to me like no other song.

You mean I can only have one song at my funeral/wake !?!
No way, it's going to be all Buffett, all the time and I do mean ALL of Buffett. I don't care if it takes a little while to get through it all, I'm in no rush!

well lets see:
a JB song would have to be The Jolly Mon, because even after the Jolly Mon is gone, everybody still loves him, he is peaceful in the Heavens, and has always had a gift for song even after death, influence over the islanders, that kinda thing. You know? lol...That, and/or the Harry Chapin song called "Circle"
Those and maybe also Prince of Tides since I had just listened to Hot Water today was listeneing to the lyrics of the song.

ya'll stole my Lovely Cruise idea....patented and copyrighted (see prior posts on aforementioned patents, etc...

) My brother was buried in his Miami Hurricanes tshirt...like someone said, how else would god recognize him. He bid his farewell much too soon.....
