When Jimmy covers an old song does that really make it his song? :-? If memory serves me right this was originally a Hank Williams song and Jimmy, as he has done so often, has redone it in his style. I love Jimmy when he redoes an older song but dogging these other guys for not having Jimmy around seems a little harsh considering it's not really his song per se.
But it would be funny trying to see those guys coordinate a gig like Dreamer said! :D

HOW ABOUT STARTING A RUMOR about 7/6/04

Post by wpsbuffett in INDY »

Coconuts wrote:Yeah, but the KC forum also says that he'll be making a guest appearance at the JB show in Indy on 7/8- which would be a pretty neat trick, since he's performing in Cinci that night.

And they could do it without Jimmy, he does have something a little bit more important to his fans to do tonight.
If you look at Kenny's tour it RESTARTS in Cincy on 7/8/04 in Cincy ...SO IT IS POSSIBLE he could be a the Tuesday Indy show on 7/6/04...At least thats the rumor i am speading

p.s. JIMMY - BUBBA - PLEASE LEAVE "IF THE PHONE DOESN'T RING" in the INDY SHOWS set ...and if it would not be to much to ask ...could you say the song was really written for people in love like Dawna & Bill but their pride and ego gets in the way ....please ... :D

Maybe the person who told me that just got it wrong. Personally, I'm hoping for a Jimmy and KC show at Cheeseburger on Wednesday. Of course, I'm also hoping to win the lottery....

Let's not forget that Jimmy is performing 5 O'clock Somewhere in all his shows without Alan Jackson. From everything that I have seen and heard they are all not performing together. Alan is supposed to sing Remember When. Kenny Chesney is performing with Uncle Cracker and Toby Keith is performing by himself.

Do you complain when Jimmy plays "5:00 somewhere" live? I mean, it was on Alan's album, which made it Alan's single

Yeah, but the song in question this time out is a Hank Williams, Sr. song. It just so happens that it's going to be on the next Buffett album which some of these fellas participated in. I see it as being no different than both Buffett and Alan Jackson doing "5 O'Clock" in their respective concert sets. Plus, it can't do anything but help spurn more interest in the new album.

There's a guy in my town named Richard Head. I don't have to tell you his first name was often shortened to Dick.

Hey, I had a neighbor once named Richard Head, I wonder if its the same guy. Believe it or, everyone called him Dick.

I went to school with a girl named Tammy Furbush.

And why is it such a big deal if these guys sing Hey Good Lookin? I bet Jimmy knows about it and doesn't care. It's actually Free advertising for his new CD.

And when both guys were in high school, they shortened "Richard" to "Dick". When their name showed up on the teacher's classroom list they were Short, Dick and Small, Dick, respectfully, of course!

I had a student teacher whose name was Miss Butts. On the first day she offered extra credit to any student who could come up with a joke she hadn't heard. :o

And, several years ago there was a family that lived near us in a blue house. Their last name was Butt and they had two boys. My then 4 year old keet would say, "Mom, can I see if the Butt boys in the blue house can play?"
