I hope that all the greedy bastards in the world
Come back as lobsters.
You know that life at the bottom of the food chain
Suits them well.
I think that all of the evil people of the world
Come back as horseflies,
They want one last bite before they're sent to hell.

Back to the Island
Now the day is done
And I sit alone and think of you girl
What would I do without you in my life
Wonderin' if you love me or
just playing a fool of me.
Well I hope you understand
I just had to go back to the island
And watch the sun go down
Listen to the sea roll in
I'll be thinkin' of you
And how it might've been
Listen to the nightbird cry
Watch the sun set die
Well I hope you understand
I just had to go back to the island
Threaded in my heart
Tears are falling down
I know down in my soul
I'm really gonna miss you
Caan't end this way
For all the games we've played.
So I hope you understand
I just had to go back to the island
And watch the sun go down
Listen to the sea roll in
I'll be thinkin' of you
And how it might've been
Listen to the nightbird cry
Watch the sun set die
Well I hope you understand
I just had to go back to the island
And watch the sun go down
Listen to the sea roll in
I'll be thinkin' of you
And how it might've been

Scarlet Begonias
by Robert Hunter
As I was walkin’ round grosvenor square
Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air
From the other direction, she was calling my eye
It could be an illusion, but I might as well try, might as well try
She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes
And I knew without askin’ she was into the blues
She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls
I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls
In the thick of the evening when the dealing got rough
She was too pat to open and too cool to bluff
As I picked up my matches and was closing the door
I had one of those flashes I’d been there before, been there before
Well, I ain’t always right but I’ve never been wrong
Seldom turns out the way it does in a song
Once in a while you get shown the light
In the strangest of places if you look at it right
Well there ain’t nothing wrong with the way she moves
Scarlet begonias or a touch of the blues
And there’s nothing wrong with the look that’s in her eyes
I had to learn the hard way to let her pass by, let her pass by
Wind in the willow’s playin’ "Tea for Two"
The sky was yellow and the sun was blue
Strangers stoppin’ strangers just to shake their hand
Everybody’s playing in the heart of gold band, heart of gold band
Now the day is done

What would I do without you in my life
Wonderin' if you love me or

( I know...some folks are just NEVER happy!! It's just that MY Margaritaville doesn't have a lot of good ol' boys hanging the bar in their hats and boots... not that there's anything WRONG with that!!

Thanks.
For a new album, I like to wait until the first Saturday after it is out to play it for the first time. I catch a buzz during a nice lunch (think I am going to do duck or rabbit this time seeing as how it will be summer), and then listen and read along with the liner notes. Of course I continue to drink while I listen, and I can already see that with this many songs I am going to be very drunk come early evening. Can't wait.
Anyone else have a first listening ritual?
