Fee-based Margaritaville Membership Club
Got my Coconut Telegraph email from Margaritaville.com and they are conducting a survey to see if people would be interested in a fee-based on-line club:
We are considering an OnLine Margaritaville Membership Club and request / want / need your feedback in order to properly pursue and present it. Your annual paid membership and initial set up charge will allow us to build and maintain our One Particular Portal where you can waste away...world wide web style; in fact that's what we'll call it, wastedaway.com.
The survey is at http://margaritaville.com/cocotel/portal.htm
Seems the only interesting things listed are Access to Jimmy Buffett videos, Download songs, and Scheduled live web board chats with Coral Reefers & others

Fee Based
The only thing that would be worth the $$$$ is........offers for advance ticket purchases. I'm tired of losing out to Brokers and Scalpers. Ticketmaster is the biggest Monopoly going as well. At least this would help some fans have a better chance at getting tickets to a show.

Re: Fee Based
My thoughts exactly. Otherwise make the site free. I already spend waaay more of our disposable income than I should on Buffett stuff.F1NZZZ wrote:The only thing that would be worth the $$$$ is........offers for advance ticket purchases.

that's different. He was talking about offering a fee-based section of RM, not a fee-based fan club. Mostly it would be to justify the cost of the investment necessary to provide higher quality streams.BubbaMike wrote:A couple of months back, one of the technical people from RM was posting on some board that they might offer this. He said it would be around $5 or $10 per month and would allow them to significantly upgrade RM and prevent drop outs, etc.

Fund Web-Site?
Give me a break.......
Jimmy has plenty of cash to fund any and everything associated with him and his music. This is where I get a little upset when the Phans have to fund such an idea. Sometimes I wonder about the green disease in this world.

I took the survey, most of the things they ask about your interet is already free on other sites....like wonderful Buffettnews. I think they need to and a price range to the survey and that would really tell them the answers they want.
The advanced ticket sales is a great idea. And some discounts for Krispy Kremes too.

I think they'll figure out that without advace ticket sales this thing won't fly far. People won't pay just for a new email address and other internet features. As far as special audio/video content, Live video from the concerts would be something that might pull people in. I'm just worried that this might lead to have to pay for concert audio feeds that are now free.

I would pay as much as $25 or $30 (a year) so long as it offers a few things:
1) Advance ticket sales (as mentioned above)
2) Exclusive content to members (quality live downloads, archival photos/e-postcards, videos)
3) Information is maintained and updated frequently (once a week or every two weeks max!)
By the way, thumbs down on the "membership card" mentioned in the survey. I'm not 12 and this isn't "The Baseball Bunch."
