You tell em' AMC. Hey I'm not a hugh country fan, but look at Buffett's roots. His beginnings ARE country. Yes the steel drums are nice but the early CDs are timeless classics!Air M'Ville Cap'n wrote:go throw away your early Buffett CD's thenMizzouParrot wrote:Is the worst song ive ever heard. instead of throwing those cd's away, better to send them to people like parrot monkey or phat matt, who will apreciate them. course they could have them already, but better that they are in the hands of an appreciative fan, than somebody, who is in it for the tail gate.Air M'Ville Cap'n wrote:go throw away your early Buffett CD's thenMizzouParrot wrote:Is the worst song ive ever heard. I thought that song was crap too. So what if he did country before.....the new song is just a duet to get on the country charts. OMG......go ahead let the blood letting begin!! AND I cant spell either so there.......stuff that in your hat and.......go get a margarita and chill. WHY do we have to like everything he does?? I dont get that?

I wasn't critiquing his dislike for the music, photogal. It was more the spelling(funny) + "worst song I've EVER heard"(a little extreme) + "leave the country crap to the hicks"(derogatory) commentary. I thought it was a little silly.photogal wrote:I thought that song was crap too. So what if he did country before.....the new song is just a duet to get on the country charts. I actually strongly dislike the song as well. I also don't enjoy Jimmy's early attempts at country either. In fact, his early work is the only Jimmy stuff I don't enjoy. There is nothing wrong with liking some stuff and not liking other stuff.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people advertise their level of intelligence by running off at the mouth. It always seems that the people that use slanderous words such as "hicks" and "hillbillys" for southern people are only trying to detract the negative attention to others instead of themselves, only it always comes back to bite them in the rear end. Mizzou, I suppose you love Kenny Chesney as well, I know I do!MizzouParrot wrote:Is the worst song ive ever heard. Jimmy needs to leave the country crap to the hicks. Lets hear the Steel Drum!!!

I agree with John - I could care less if people like the song or don't like the song... the post is still a classic.photogal wrote:AND I cant spell either so there.......stuff that in your hat and.......go get a margarita and chill. WHY do we have to like everything he does??

You're ruthless!!!!
In person, the song is great fun.
IMHO, if you want to start a topic, one could, at least, have the courtesy to check your spelling and typos. It will make it a lot easier on the rest of us.

I, personally, love the song. I liked it the first time I heard it and more and more each time I've heard it since then. It was a wonderful tune when Hank did it and I think Jimmy did a great job covering it. I like the new arrangement and the rhythm, to me, sounds like classic Jimmy....almost like a signature. But, then again, I love country so what do I know??

Its not the worst song ever but it defintly isnt great, I cant stand country regardless of the fact thats where Jimmy got his roots. It all sounds teh same to me, maybe I dont listen to enough of it. Just becuase someone likes Buffett's greatest hits and not necessarily the more obscure stuff doesnt mean he/she cant be a fan of him. You dont need to love every song to like the artist. And frankly I feel that if I pay 15-20 dollars for an albulm and there is a song on it that I dont like I have every right to complain.
