I heard a radio talk show mention how the show Sex & the City is playing on TBS now, and that they thought juicy parts of the show would be left out because it wasn't allowed. I dont understand what distinguishes them away from HBO, Showtime, etc., since they can show whatever they want, except hardcore sex.
I think they make a distinction between basic cable and pay cable.

The FCC controls BROADCAST TV and radio because the government OWNS the applicable frequencies. TV and radio stations have a LICENSE granted by the FCC which gives them the right to regulate it. They have no such rights with cable. Cable is regulated directly by federal law (Congress).

But Nascar says no to hard Liquor but yes to beer and malt liquor?

You should have seen the rational for keeping another cellular company out... I think it was the 99 team that had another cellular company lined up as a sponsor, and NASCAR said no. Said that since NEXTEL was the series sponsor, they would keep other companies out. Well, except Cingular, AT&T and Sprint, which were all grandfathered in.
NASCAR has never made sense. Heck, they can't even get their own rules straight week to week. This is no different.

Their rules are written on loose leaf notebook paper. If the rule isn't helping their "chosen one(s), they tear it out and write another

Sorry, my bad. But for only being 16 I don't think it is that bad of a mistake. I actually know a lot about alcohol, but can't always associate brand names... yet. I guess when you work at 2 restaurants, it kinda grows on you.
