It's not like they actually harmed a real cat in the scene, and the act was not portrayed in a positive light. To be honest, the only place I know of to find footage of actual animal violence is the videos the PETA whackos show at their demonstrations.

I know it wasn't real, but I cry at dog food commercials. And the mastercard commercials about the dog ALWAYS makes me cry. But I'm a sap, not a PETA nut. Those people scare me. In high school, we ended up with a cat. Nice cat, we liked it, but really didn't want another pet. Our resident PETA wannabe activist suggested we "set it free"- the look on her face when I told her it had a pet door and was "free" but liked us and always came back was priceless.

Not so much. Dad brought her home after she rode on the gas tank of his truck for like 10 miles (instead of just getting out of the truck before it started moving), she got hit by a car (we lived in the middle of nowhere, none of the roads near us had more than 30 cars go down them daily), was afraid of the dark, and died when she tried to take on a goose and fell in the lake in winter. We miss her.
