I'm still not too fond of Bypass this Heart, ( I refer to it as Bypass this Song), but the rest are pretty key. After closely listening to the lyrics of Beyond the End, I have a new respect for it, and some of my favorites on it are LMIP, If the Phone Doesn,t Ring, Its Me, and the keet love to sing Jolly Mon together!!!
I just found out that Roy Orbison sings the background vocals on Beyond the End near the end of the song.
I never knew that and like it even more now.

I put this one in Jimmy's top five. Anybody who says it sucks is not a true parrothead. EVERY song on it is good. If you don't like it you're not really that into Jimmy's music. It's classic Buffett!

I LOVE "Last Mango in Paris" and it is one of my favorite Buffett albums. I don't understand how anyone could call this one weak or one of his worst. The title track is another of Jimmy's classic story songs, and other tracks like "the Perfect Partner", "Gypsies in the Palace", "If the Phone doesn't ring it's me", "Jolly Mon Sing", and the incredible "Beyond the End" are all awesome songs. The only cuts I don't care that much for are "Bypass this heart" and "Desperation Samba".
But if anything, I think this album was a HUGE step up from the previous one, "Riddles in the Sand", which is one of my least favorite Buffett albums. (I'd say "Riddles in the Sand" from '84 and "Somewhere Over China" from '81 are my two least favorite Buffett albums). But "Last Mango in Paris" is one of my favorites.
My top 10 favorite Buffett albums are
1. Barometer Soup
2. Off to see the Lizard
3. Banana Wind
4. Far Side of the World
5. Floridays
6. A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean
7. Fruitcakes
8. Coconut Telegraph
9. Last Mango in Paris
10. License to Chill
Heck, I love them all though. Some better than others, but I have them all on CD now and I love at least something from all of Jimmy's albums. My least favorites though are "Riddles in the Sand", "Somewhere Over China", and "Havana Daydreamin'".

I have to say I was disappointed with this one. Every decent song except the title song is on the box set. Usually there's a gem or 2 that wasn't included on the box set, and other decent songs, but in this case, really on the song Last Mango was good enough for the box. My least favorite Buffett album.

You know what they say about denial. Admit it - Mango STINKS! Be a man! Grow some! It's simply a bad album. It's got some good tunes on it but then so does Volcano. Some people who either over-"get it" or under-"get it" have trouble admitting Jimmy has some clunkers.
That's alright, you can think Mango is his best ever. We'll just make sure to not invite you to our party from here on out. Wouldn't want you to get all slimy from us choppin' up some mangos for some real nice rhum drinks.

I listened to Mango today while driving around. It's got decent songs on it - all the albums do. It's just not a good album and the production is weak. I still view it as Buffett's worst album.
It's all pointless anyway, how good or how bad something is. It is what it is. You like it, I don't. Etc......it's not a football team.

I listened to Somewhere Over China today while driving around. A million times better than Mango. Period.
That's the end of that.

Listening to this Cd as write this... I LOVE IT ALL!!! I guess my favorite off the disc would be "The Perfect Partner"... To me, classic Jimmy!!
There are not many low points in this cd... For me that is. This is what got me into Jimmy in the first place... When I heard "Jolly Mon Sing".
The only Cd I think I'm missing is "A1A".

Perfect Partner, Please Bypass This Heart, Gypsies - great songs. I loved this record when it came out - back in 1985.
