To Whom it May Concern........
Reciently there have been a few threads where there have been very negative tenison created. I will be the first to admit I participated in that tension. The people here that know me know that I am a careing person who adamently defends what I believe is right.
There are a few of you- you know who you are - everyone knows who you are that I have had words with here in the recent past. I would like to explain my stance on this issue and hopefully we can come to some resolution of the issues invloved.
We all gather here on BN because of our affinity for Jimmy Buffett. However, we also have other interests such as baseball, football, NASCAR etc. I only see problems occur when a group of us attempt to have a pleasant conversation regarding one certain performer. Those of you that don't like this performer always come into the thread and are just foced to let us know that you don't like this performer, some of you in an insulting manner. I'm not saying who you are insulting I'm saying the manner is insulting. The manner that you voice your distaste for this performer is always the same in each and every thread we attempt. We know you don't like this performer - everyone knows you don't like this performer so why do you feel the need to voice your negativity in every thead started? I personally know of people who avoid those threads because the tone that these threads turn angers them yet they would have interest in participating if they knew they could without crap happening. WE - me and those involved are both guilty.
Another puzzling thing to me is that I don't see you post this way in any other threads. It makes me wonder if you are just doing this to cause trouble - I would hope not because it could ultimately get both of us banned from this board. You're not going to back down and I'm not going to back down. Again, I'm not concerned with the fact that you don't like this performer but rather the constant negativity that you bring into the threads and unfortunately I stand against what I feel is wrong which is your injection of negativity into what could be a pleasant conversation.
Suppose you were at a party and there were groups of conversations scattered about. Some of them are about something you are in disagreement with. Do you join that group to argue or do you find a conversation which shares your like views?? I don't know about you but I was raised to not be rude and start crap at a party (however I have been know to also start crap and I felt bad afterwards)
So all I am asking is that you allow those that have different interests from you to enjoy their conversations - no matter what the subject matter - and leave them alone - back away and find a conversation with like minded people that you can participate in. It would be the polite thing to do. If you have to post your disagreement please do so in a polite manner and leave it at that.
If you continue in the manner you have been IMHO you're nothing more than the drunk walking up to the pool party whipping out your pecker and wizzing in the pool. I am the lady screaming at you to stop.

I wasn't a part of the tread that sparked this, but I did, after reading the start of this one this morning, research posting until I found what the "display" of opinions were...
Perhaps it is because I am older than most on here, perhaps it is because I refuse to deal with a 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum. Regardless the reason for my saying so, this is a message board and I shall make my comment.
Those of us that did indeed learn to behave ourselves as children did indeed learn to behave ourselves as adults. When adults "discuss" ANY issue, they can. When a child is brought into an adult discussion, it no longer is an adult discussion. I have no idea how you deal or dealt with your children and temper tantrums, but I, on the ONE AND ONLY time it happened, jerked my daughter up and busted her butt. Problem was solved. Short. Quick. Never repeated. Period.
The first two things that came to mind, after reading the confrontation of what I believe to be the thread of "subject", was this...
"God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason."
and
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt."
I have been attacked on these threads too, and because of that I have developed an opinion of many who post here. I was raised and am totally convinced and been proven here, that "birds of a feather, flock together."
On the rare occasions that I post anything anymore, I try my best to get my point across without offending anyone or starting any trouble, but unfortunately for me, just the sight of my name seems to cause others to immediately jump on the defense or offense side, rather than calmly staying in the belchers... I have learned to ignore them, their rants, and their total lack of respect to others.
Life is too short to spend it reacting...
Just my 2 cents... good luck to all.

I'm not sure which thread you're referring to, but my personal rule of thumb is that just because something "gets me riled up" doesn't mean I have reply to it. Why stir up the pot, you know? That's what "they're" looking for. I guess what I'm saying is that by not contributing to threads full of negative energy crap, it's my way of maintaining the positive energy.
