Just wanted to warn everyone, if you go to Margarittaville in Ocho Rios (Jamaica), not only do they not play ANY Buffet music, they refuse to when asked. The bartender said it was not the kind of music the customers in there liked. (Why do they think we went???)

How odd. :-? We went to the Margaritaville in Mo Bay and about every song in 3 or 4 was Buffett.

I had 2 great "Buffett in a bar" experiences in the BVI. One beach bar (Sandbox) had some kind of Buffett compilation that I wasn't familiar with, but it went for at least 90 mins. Then, at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost van Dyke, they played the entire Ballads cd. I was so completely, utterly happy!

I've been down there a couple of times. The first time down we met a local who "showed us the local culture". My buddies and i got into a discussion with him why the shot at Jimmy. He started rambling something in the Jamaican accent and tried to defend it by saying that people down there believe the U.S gov't killed Marley. So I guess they thought it would make things even. After his story we just stared at him and when the awkward silence broke we just moved onto the next splif.

Not that that really has anything to do with not playing buffett songs down there but that memory always amuses me.

Why of course he has a song about cburgers. You wash them down with the Margarita. Plus you have got to have something to eat with that huge dill pickle.

At the Margaritaville in New Orleans, they played the same Buffett tape over and over, I loved it but the staff looked really annoyed,

Maybe they should find another job, you think? That would be like employees at Disney World giving the impression they're annoyed hearing "It's a small world after all"!
