Who is going to Blossom Thursday and what are your plans for tailgating?

Even though I personally have had some success tailgaiting at Blossom I too am a little scared for this year. A group of us are partying outside elsewhere before then taking a bus arriving at Blossom around 5:30. We will see how strict they really are when we arrive and play it by ear. For those of you out there taking a bus, try pulling over right before entering and put all your booze in the underneath compartment of the bus. The police cannot search down there. Hopefully the local authorities won't be such a buzz kill this year

I'll be there with 4 others, our plans are to go to the lot w/o our grill and just drink for a few hours before going in. Things are quite low key compared to other venues. There is a pre-party that has a bus as well if you search around here you can find information. This was a last minute show addtion, so the plans are not really set in stone...I want to grab a limo for the night, but I am not sure if the rest of my gang is up for it...

I'm going, but we are going to stop at a friend's house before we go to Blossom - I live in the western suburbs of Cleveland, so it is not far for me to go. I don't know any of you yet on this forum as I am new, but I hope eventually to meet some of you.

i'm just doing a pre-party at home. my wife is pregnant so i've now got a 9 month designated driver. so no need to risk the police there when i can get shuttled back and forth.

have a good time at the show. hope to meet some new fellow parrott heads at the show.

We pulled the same thing with our pregnant friend in Cinci in 2002.

Called Blossom today. Was told NO Grills and no alcohol in parking lot and security would be patrolling. I was hoping that by having House of Blues take over Blossom they would loosen up a little bit. Problem is that Blossom is still in the same place, surrounded by the same wealthy whiners, and patrolled by the same Cuyahoga Falls Fun Nazi's. I'll be willing to bet that as soon as you get off Rte 8 @ Steels Corners, you won't be able to go 1/4 mile without a cop someplace (Beware of them overhead in the trees). Looks like House of Blues has a good investment property - their concessions income has to be one of the best of all the Amphitheaters in North America.

Boy it just seems hard to believe Blossom is that anal about all this. I have planned to bring a small coleman camp stove to cook a couple burgers, but margaritas in a 2 gallon cooler jug and drink from covered plastic cups and some rum soaked pineapple. That and some tunes seems harmless enough. Although I understand the open container laws and open fires are prohibitted. Some people do push the envelope. Oh well, we'll see. So far these are my plans.

I also am doing the pregnant wife shuffle. Blossom really sticks it to ya for tailgating. So, we will be getting ready most likely at home.

thats not cool at all, no booze? I know the rules say none in the venue, but nothing about the lot...so is my tailgate supposed to consist of diet coke? Guess we will have to consider staying at the hotel a bit longer, but with cop situation around, a bus trip may be a better choice...I don't remember them being quite this strict in the past...

has anyone been to any other show recently at this venue that may be able to share some information...
