Country legend Nelson to release new album in September

Willie Nelson will release a new studio album, It Will Always Be, in October. The set finds the country music iconoclast singing with Lucinda Williams, Norah Jones and Toby Keith.

The album is Nelson's proper follow-up to 2002's Grammy-nominated Great Divide, and, like that album, it will be issued by Lost Highway records. It hardly constitutes Nelson's only album for 2004, however, as he released Nacodoches Sessions, a collection of standards recorded in 1997, in April, and later this summer he and sister/pianist Bobbi plan to release Farther Along, a gospel collection. A Live at Billy Bob's set was also issued in the spring.

Nelson contributes a handful of originals to It Will Always Be, but he also puts his stamp on "Picture in a Frame" (written by Tom Waits and wife/collaborator Kathleen Brennan) and Williams' "Over Time," which also features Williams on vocals. Outspoken Nelson fan Norah Jones adds her voice to "Dreams Come True," while Toby Keith, who enlisted Nelson for his hit "Beer for My Horses," sings on "Tired."

Though Nelson had to pull out of several spring concerts due to surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, he's planning to return for his annual Fourth of July Picnic, to be held at the Fort Worth Stockyards this weekend.

I am a huge Tom Waits fan, I am anxious to here his version of "Picture in a Frame." Plus I will be seeing Willie for a second time in concert when he comes to Altoona, Pa and performs with Bob Dylan at Blair County Ballpark.
