Licence to Chill Australian Release date

Post by creeky »

(for the Aussie lurkers out there!)

Well, we dont have to wait too much longer than the USA to get a copy in our local stores.

I have been contacted by the sole aussie distributors for the CD and the release date in Australia is July 19.

We (Aussie Parrot Head Club) are receiving some CD's and promotional material from the promoter.

These will be given away as part of a competition/auction/raffle (whatever I decide basically  ) to eligible parrotheads (you have to be australian!).

If you could get rid of those import restrictions, you could probably listen to the new CD the same day as us. :P

I think it is more how long the "mailboat" takes to get them out here

(we normally have to wait a lot longer than just a week after the USA release date).

I "think" there is to be a bit of a media push with this album - we hope so - good sales could mean finally a committment for an aussie tour!

I just remember from my economics studies, at the time (1998), Australia did not import any CDs. Some labor union law required that all CDs be remastered and burned in Australia.

I didn't do any music shopping during my last trip, but I just remember how expensive the CDs used to be.

BTW, how many of those promotional items are actually going to leave your hands?

They stopped that a while ago - the prices have dropped as well as a result.

And ALL the goods will leave my hands - I dont have room for it to start with - plus I have a friend in USA (FL) that sends me stuff anyway!
