Anyone read, or heard anything about Buffett's newest book??

Tales from M'ville is a truly great book, but I was enthralled by A Pirate Looks At Fifty, mainly because it is just Jimmy writing about his adventures and memories. I heard his new book is an extension off a short story in Tales from M'ville and the character Tully Mars (the cowboy). Enjoy the books, I enjoy them ALMOST as much as his music!

Yeah, where did he venture off to? Cause trouble and then disappear.

Don't feel bad, you are not alone. I guess I'm like Joey on Friends. I'll read a little and come back to it when I get time. Just finished it and am debating on Joe Merchant or waiting for the new one.

I am just now reading WIJM. But I read APLAF like 4 times. I love that book with JB playing in the background. My kids love the Jolly Mon book too.

Lat night I came home from helping my Mother. My Hubby was reading Jolly Mon to our littlest keet. She LOVES it too. You should also get Trouble dolls. It's another Savannah/Jimmy book. Another one we love that's not a Jimmy book (but I bet he'd like it!) is called What's happening to the Manatees. She's 5 and has learned we are in charge of the future and we have to protect our animal friends.

Where is Joe Merchant is a must read. It's great and so much fun to see how song lyrics are woven into the story.

My keets love Jolly Mon. Especially when my hubby reads it with an island accent. What a hoot. We saw Trouble Dolls at Margaritaville (store in Vegas), but didn't get it. Will have to next time we're there.

I'm so looking forward to the new book.

i wanna see if anybody agrees with me on this....

while jimmy always does a brilliant job of setting the scenery as it is, the thing that always really sets the scene/mood for me is when he throws in the song in the background....

for example, "Tupelo Honey" when Frank/Trevor are eating at the cafe after she has just shown up!!

always sets the tone!!

I liked Joe Merchant alot after I got into it. I thought the first few chapters were tough to get thru. Alot of character development I guess you could say. At one point I could'nt put it down. I thought Priate@50 was a little slow in the begining too.
