And if so what happened to it? I remember telling me about one there before I became a parrothead.

Don't worry, we plan to visit both on our next trip to SC. Seriously, I don't think it will be a problem.

I don't think it will be a problem either. Two totally different crowds of people visit each place. And they're so close, why not visit them both??

The store in Charleston is on King St, classy shopping area. Myrtle Beach is a typical tourist trap, don't take offense SC folks, I love Myrtle Beach and its atmosphere.

Myrtle Beach is the redneck/white trash beach on the Carolina coast from the perspective of a native Carolinian. A lot of people from the Carolinas prefer other beaches along the coast and leave Myrtle to the others. Charleston is classy and beautiful. I don't think they'll conflict at all. There is plenty of room for both. If anything were to happen, I would think Buffett would attempt to expand Margaritaville in Charleston. But that probably is improbably b/c of the cost of land and city ordinances.

Well, to my defense as well as others who love Myrtle Beach...I am as far as you can get from being a redneck or white trash.....and I know of plenty of people including myself and my family that enjoy Myrtle Beach....and I would not call them redneck or white trash.....

I think Charleston could definitely use a Margaritaville restaurant/bar. Like Carmen said the store is landlocked in the heart of the shopping district. It's pretty small and there's not much room for expansion at the current location. Something either on the water or on Market Street would be really nice.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

As a SC native for 30 year, I disagree with the white trash statement. I agree with M_G PA, I'm not WT or RN and I love the area.

Having lived at Myrtle Beach for a summer or two as well as having family down there I must also come to its defense. Granted there are a few "billybobs" and such, but having spent a little time in Charlotte, I gotta say that there are a few of them up there as well.

What's wrong with being a redneck? "I can be very sensitive on occasions and real trashy on others."
