Beach House on the Moon....

Post by pbans »

The CD player in my car was on the fritz for a few days....couldn't eject the CD in the single player and it wouldn't switch over to the changer....so I've been listening to Beach House on the Moon for the last four or five days.....funny how you can rediscover when you listen to the same thing over and over.

Permanent Reminder....wow. Chromosomes and genes
spawn these fateful scenes evolution can be mean,
there's no dumbass vaccine. Blame your DNA
you're a victim of your fate.
it's human nature to miscalculate.
No truer words were ever spoken...or rather sung.

Pacing the Cage....definately the song at my wake

Math Suks....well, you know...but it makes my keet sing out loud and that makes it worth the listen.

Oysters & Pearls....truly a pearl, and one of those songs that can bring tears to my eyes....
Some never fade away
Some crash and burn
Some make the world go round
Others watch it turn

I Will Play for Gumbo....classic Buffett humor....spicy monkey...that's good stuff!

I think I need to find another gem to stick in the CD player!
BTW, hit a speed bump at Super Target and now the CD player works just fine....knew they were good for something!

It's amazing. I have seen more negitive post about BHOTM, than good. Thank you pbans, and your right. In my book, Jimmy has 3 types of songs

Beach style - Margaritaville, Fins, Try to Reason, etc....

Serious or Deep - Savanna fare you well, Pirate @ 40, Oyster and Pearls, etc...

Fun - Math sux, Hokey Pokey, Play for Gumbo

BHOTM has a awesome mix of the 3 like most of his CDs do :D

He also played it at Alpine in 1999, dedicated it to JFK, Jr, who had just died.

Me, too. I'm with SGH on this one. Hearing it live would be almost as good as hearing TIJNMG. I wish he'd do them both more often.

Beach House On the Moon isn't my favorite C.D., but it's a d*mn good one. I think the only songs on there I DON'T care too much for are Spending Money and You Call It Joggin'.

The only time I've heard Pacing the Cage live was at the Saturday concert in Chicago in 1999-during the BHOTM tour.
I remember THAT concert very well-that's the one when I gave the lady who eventually became my wife an engagement ring.

I agree with Wino. It's not the best, but like all of Jimmy's stuff, I still like it. :)

I always skip Joggin'.......just kind of a stupid song.
I do like Spending Money okay though.....

I'm thinking Riddles in the Sand is the next CD I'll "get stuck" in the CD player....it's never been one of my favorites and maybe I just need to rediscover it~
