Scarlet Begonias is a good song regardless of who does it and Sea of Heartbreak is awesome because Johnny Cash recorded it in 1996 and George Strait is on Jimmy's performance of it.

I find Simply Complicated so catchy....I know it will never be a "hit" but I hope to hear it in concert at least a few times this year!

Window On the World.

It seems as if I always fall in love with any Jimmy Buffett song with the word "World" in the title.

I don't understand this "best of the other 9" since a favorite couldn't be picked from the first poll because not all songs were listed.

This is like saying that I have a b rated #1...

If you are going to do a poll, do it right.

you can't have 16 items on a poll Rick, thats why we needed to make 2. But its all good, you get to vote twice!

My favorite is not on either poll, If that is the problem you are having Rick, I bet we like the same song.

Ok my apology for being blunt about the poll but seriously I would have liked it to include ALL them first and eliminate as we go. It was just confusing. Also, didn't realize about the poll limit.

FFS - where you been ? and I do believe it's Back to the Island

That's ok, caribe- Back to the Island is in its own class anyway of maybe one of Jimmys all time best, IMHO!

And 12volt- I been building boats! :D , Well, its a dream of mine anyway to build a boat! Live is moving at near light speed right now- look for a thread soon to see what I have been up to!

Best album since Barometer Soup

Post by KeyboardKev »

My faves are:
of course, Hey Good Lookin
Playin the Loser Again
and, I think the best - Scarlet Begonias

Least fave-
Coastal Confessions, Simply Complicated - the melody and sounds of the songs are great, but I don't like the lyrics one bit.

I want to be sure everyone sees these polls and has a chance to vote on them.

I'm going to let these first two polls run through the weekend. Monday morning, I'll put the top songs from each into a new poll to determine the BN favorite. I'll include Back To The Islands in the final round since it was not included in these.
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

I haven't heard too much favoring "Conchy Tonkin' " That song grows on ya; I ended up playing it back-to-back three times.
As for "Back to the Island," it's a good song and good choice but I found Jimmy's voice doesn't hold up as well in that key he's singing it in... :-?

Don't forget to get your votes in. This round runs through the weekend, with the contenders advancing to Round Two next week.

It was a three-way battle between Coastal Confessions, Scarlett Begonias and Window On The World.

But as a former alter boy who spent many years in Catholic confinement, the sentimental favorite has to be Coastal Confessions!
