Jimmy's Singing on this cd...

Post by James William »

I believe is a whole lot better on the cd than I have heard in the previous
(Not implying that he has svcked on others at all) I just prefer when Jimmy sings with a little bit of a deeper and a little softer tone AND when he doesn't attempt to sing outside his range. It has a more relaxing tone to it.
Nice Job Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Trip Around the Sun really shows some impressive vocal work on Jimmy's part.

This is an amazing song. It ranks right up there with Floridays as my favorite.

I had very similar thoughts. On a couple of tracks the softness of his voice is very obvious and is a nice touch. Having listened to a couple of the new songs live (via RM) he is almost screeching as they are really not in his range.

you must mean Scarlet Begonias I noticed that in the live version.. All in all this is one of the best cd's JB's produced. I like the duets,BUT would have liked it more if JB would have chosen to handle the vocals on his own.
Kinda makes you think what will the next cd be like IF this one becomes as successful as we think it will be? Will he stick to the more country feel?

JW-yeah, Scarlet Begonias is the main one, but I also think Piece of Work has sounded a bit high for him when he has done it in concert.

ejr-Ahhh yes I knew there was another one I heard that was a little out there for him. I remember hearing that one on RM also.

I think he sounds great b/c he's being pushed to sing harder by the other artists. Almost like a competition. I preface with the comments made on his special where he said he had to really shine on "Trip Around The Sun" b/c Martina has such a beautiful voice.

As for Scarlet Begonias, he said he did that in 1 take.
