Man, my head hurts, my feet stink, etc. Just a short report on the OPH cruise in Charleston, SC last night. Ticket proceeds went to benefit Alzheimer research. The General Beauregard departed Patriots Point at 1930 under threatening skies. As the parrotheads stepped aboard, each was handed an ice cold draft beer and presented with a lei. Around 2030, the second keg was popped and the upper deck was packed with dancers rocking to Bob Marley, Meat Loaf, and JB. After one particular parrot head from Summerville, yelled "Why Don't We Get Drunk..." the DJ quickly responded and soon the entire ship joined in a boozy sing-a-long to WDWGDAS. As the parrot heads toured the Charleston harbor, they were treated to up close views of the carrier Yorktown, Daniel Island, and the Charleston Battery. Buffett tunes wafted on the summer sea breezes while the parrot heads socialized and enjoyed the evening. Around 2215, the General Beauregard headed back into port as the last song of the evening "Margaritaville" was barely discernable above the tropical shirt wearing crowd of alcohol primed singers. From what I saw, it looked like everyone had a good time and will be ready for the next cruise in October.
Cheers from Charleston
