Ive tried them both. Currently Im with Columbia.

The catch is the shipping and handling prices...They will sell you the $15 or $18 CDs, and then give you all the free ones promised, but each CD costs $3 or $4 in shipping.

Also the monthly mailings can be aggravaiting, but CDs that are sent to you that you dont want(forgot to return the mailing) can be sent back.

Its overall a good investment, or at least it has been phor me. BMG has the best selection, but Columbiahouse isnt bad. :D

BMG Prices are accordingly:

7 Selections s in the Enrl Pkg ..... $19.53 (S/H, plus tax)
+ 1 Sel at regular price ...... 14.98 (minimum required
purchase) + 2.79 (S/H, plus tax)
+ 4 additional Free choices ... 11.16 (S/H, plus tax)

TOTAL = 12 for the price of 1 = $48.46 (plus tax)

Based on these figures the average price per CD is $4.04 (plus tax).

Shipping is $2.79 for each single CD plus $1.99 for each
additional component in the set.

I always just signed up under several accounts... one using my first name, another with my middle, third with full, fourth with just my initials, then I started using my cats name and initials!!! Then got in my 12 free and never re-ordered or simply "Returned To Sender" all additional music!!!

Worked out very well for me for about 4 years... course the key was always checking NO under the "Are you 18 or older" box --- since a minor can not enter into a legally binding contract :wink: And the funny thing was when my cat started receiving Credit Card offers in the mail from the mailing list Columbia House and BMG had placed her on :lol: That was the big joke around the house for years --- "The cat had better credit than we did!!!!"

Course this was all like 10-14 years ago during high school... I considered re-joining using my dogs name a couple years ago but found that NOW A'Days they require you to purchase at least one CD then they'll send you your free ones or they required you to send in some S&H cash with your initial order!!!! Screw That... if I wanted to pay anything for the music I would just go to the store :pirate: :D :lol:
