Why is it different? Why is it not ok for an "Stupid" rapper to speak his mind but it's ok for a drug induced Rush Limbuagh to get one the radio and give his everyday?

What about Reagan? Should Arnold step down as Govoner of California? He was just some steriod using weight lifter turned actor. Why should anyone vote for him? He must be an Idiot? No way he can have any valid points.

SHOULD ARNOLD STEP DOWN?NO,IF THE PEOPLE IN CA WERE DUMB ENOUGH TO VOTE HIM IN THEN I DONT CARE.IT'S THEIR PROBLEM,NOT MINE.
SHOULD HE BE GOVERNOR?NO!THAT WAS ANOTHER CASE OF A CELEBRITY USING THEIR FAME TO GET INVOLVED IN POLITICS WHEN MORE QUALIFIED PEOPLE WERE'NT EVEN CONSIDERED BECAUSE THEY ARENT IN THE MOVIES.MOST PEOPLE WILL VOTE FOR A FAMOUS FACE BEFORE THEY VOTE FOR A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL.

I go to a show to hear music, If I want politics I will go to a political event.
At a Jackson Brown concert years ago he started in about a local "Indian activist" that was "Wrongly imprisoned" What he didn't know was that this particular "Activest" didn't become and "Activist" until he was arrested for poaching on federal land. I walked out and was not the only one to do so.

I thought she was a Kennedy, but I also thought that I read somewhere that her family was very big in the Republican party in CA.

As my boyfriend once said about the Carville- (brain fart I can't remember her name- Mary M something, right?)- You know they clean the toilets with each others toothbrushes sometimes...

It doesn't sound like these will be billed as just concerts.

And LIPH, that's who I was thinking of, thank you.

IT'S DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY RUN AROUND IN PUBLIC SPOUTING OFF AT THE MOUTH WITH THE MOST IDIOTIC STATEMENTS WHICH ARE USUALLY SO UNINFORMED
That's a pretty blank statement, but like as it has been mentioned before, if it brings awareness than fine. Either way, they are artists and art is inspired by life, not just Margaritaville.

Reagan, and Arnie used their fame to get elected. Whatever. Get over it. In this case in particular, the event is political so your point is even more irrelevant.

Eminem spoke at a rally a few months ago and said if he could vote, he would. He said he couldn't because of a prior conviction. Turns out he's completely eligible and didn't know it. That is a prime example of why people who are paid to sing or act should sing and act. Let them voice their opinions at cocktail parties, not on CNN. There's more important things in the world than what Derek Jeter, Bruce Springsteen and Tim Robbins think about politics.

Jeter never talks politics. In fact, he never really says anything, he's about as bland as you can get.

Sorry, I was just trying to pull from sports, music and movies. And Jeter was on Sports Center. But you know what I mean. :pirate:

N.Y. Candidate Seeks Springsteen Boycott

Post by Jahfin »

By MARC HUMBERT Associated Press Writer

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Upset with Bruce Springsteen's effort to oust President Bush from the White House, the New York Conservative Party's candidate for the U.S. Senate is launching a "Boycott the Boss" television commercial.

"He thinks making millions with a song-and-dance routine allows him to tell you how to vote," Marilyn O'Grady says in the 30-second spot. "Here's my vote: Boycott the Boss. If you don't buy his politics, don't buy his music."

In a statement, O'Grady said Springsteen "has a right to say what he thinks, but we have an equal right to speak. Now that he's moved onto the political stage to bash my president, it is entirely fair to respond."

Springsteen was among more than 20 prominent musicians who announced on Aug. 4 that they would hold a series of anti-Bush fund-raising concerts under the "Vote for Change" banner in 28 cities in October.

"I feel this is one of the most critical elections in my lifetime," Springsteen told The Associated Press at the time.

Springsteen's "No Surrender" has become an anthem for Democratic Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign.

A spokesman for O'Grady, Howard Lim, would not say how much the Long Island's ophthalmologist's campaign was spending on the commercial, in which she says, "I stand with President Bush and it's time to tame the liberal elite."

A spokeswoman for Springsteen did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.

O'Grady, a conservative Republican, launched her campaign after Republican Gov. George Pataki and the state GOP's leadership handed the party's Senate nomination to Howard Mills, a little-known legislator who supports abortion rights and civil unions for gays. Polls have shown Schumer running far ahead of both O'Grady and Mills.

NONE OF THEM SHOULD TALK ABOUT POLITICS.I DONT WANT TO HEAR THEIR OPINIONS ON IT ANYMORE THAN I WANT TO HEAR A POLITICIAN SING
