Howdy Folks,
For the past few weeks the Margaritaville homepage doesn't load. Not sure what gives. Windows XP, normal configurations on explorer. Any words of wisdom? Thanks for the help!

I have not had a problem with it loading and I was on there this morning. I am not that computer smart so I can't give you any ideas except that it is a plot to keep you off the site. :D

May not want to have admitted it was your first post when you are writing about technical problems. :P :pirate:

We probably would have figured it out... Well, maybe not LIPH, but those of us under the age of 80 would have.

Ok... Given that little bit of info I can only make a few suggestions. First thing is I would search for a program called ad-aware and install it. The program will kill all spyware that might be on your computer. Before running it make sure you have it updated by clicking on check for updates at the bottom right of the first screen. (check for updates now, connect, and then ok to download and install them). Click finish when it is done and then click on use custom scanning options and choose customize. click on scan within archive and click on proceed. then click on next and clean all the spyware it finds. It might require a reboot depending on whether it finds any files resident in memory. I like ad-aware. Others prefer spybots. Both do the same things basically. Ad-aware is easier to use IMO.

After that I would make sure you have all the windows crictical updates on your PC. Make sure you have virus protection and make sure it is updated. Scan with the AV software to see if it finds any virus.

After that I would reinstall Windows Media player. Here is the link for WMP for XP:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

That is the steps I would take off the top of my head knowing the little details I do know.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help one and all.
I just the error message the web site is unavailable. I'll try some updates.
I know it can be dangerous to announce being new, but it's also kinda fun too. Like the first time you jump your schwinn with the bananna seat and spider handle bars off the home made ramp.

Thanks again,
Lee

Reconfirm for us that the home page for Margaritaville is not loading. If this is the case then you can disregard my advise on reloading WMP. I just wanted to make sure you meant you couldn't listen to the music.

If you can not get to the home page try clicking on this link to see if it works:

http://www.margaritaville.com/

If that does not work then can you get to http://www.google.com ??? Are you trying to access the site at work? At home behing a firewall? And if so what type of firewall do you have?

Sorry for all the questions. If you still can not get it to load and want it to load please post as many details as possible.

Thanks
