Anyone in Advertising?

Okay, I always said I wouldn't do this, but times are getting harder than I expected. I am an avertising/marketing/PR writer with a fair amount of graphic design experience. When I graduated college (Tulane University) the job market was (and still seems to be) very tight. I was fortunate enough to be offered a job as a speechwriter in tennessee that quickly developed into a position with the state's in-house advertising agency. As great as it has been here in Nashville, I miss the ocean, I miss my family, I miss my girlfriend, I miss the palmettos, I miss everything about the South Carolina Lowcountry. If anyone is in the advertising/communications industry in South Carolina, or knows someone who is, I am a hard working, and talented (I've been told) writer and designer who is willing to do whatever it takes to prove myself and get back to the only city I've ever called home. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

You need to go here and post your resume:
www.parrotheadsatwork.com
The website is operated by one of BN's own, so you know that it is Parrothead-phriendly.
I understand what it is to be homesick. The only advice I can offer, albeit unsolicited, is don't move until you have a job locked in.
Good luck!

Just please tell me you had nothing to do with the "Come to Tennessee, we're playing your song" advertisement.

Hmmm, I've always heard just the opposite. When looking for work, and from my brief stint as a head hunter, I was always told that companies look at you more favorably if they know relocation (both the time and expense) is not going to have an effect.

I wasn't involved in that campaign, and I've heard both that I should and shouldn't go ahead and move, but for financial reasons, I need to stay here until I have something else lined up, so I'm forced to look from Nashville.
